The engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines has revised its annual forecasts upwards after an unexpectedly successful third quarter. The company, which is listed in the DAX, recorded an increase in adjusted operating profit of almost 25 percent to 339 million euros, which significantly exceeded analysts’ expectations. This positive development has prompted MTU to increase its profit forecast for the current year.
In the third quarter, MTU increased its sales by twelve percent to over 2.1 billion euros. This increase in sales is evidence of the strong demand for the company’s products and services in the aviation industry. Despite the challenges the industry has experienced in recent years, MTU shows remarkable resilience and adaptability.
The company’s board of directors now expects adjusted operating profit to increase by a mid-20s percentage in the current year, which corresponds to around 1.3 billion euros. This forecast is above the previous expectation of an increase in the low to mid 20s. The cash flow is also expected to be higher than originally assumed at 350 to 400 million euros.
