Adjusted operating profit is expected to increase by a mid-20s percentage, which corresponds to around 1.3 billion euros. Cash flow will also be higher than previously expected, although sales will remain unchanged.

MTU Aero Engines, a leading provider in the aviation industry, has revised its annual targets for 2023 upwards. The DAX-listed group now expects an increase in adjusted operating profit by a mid-20s percentage, which corresponds to around 1.3 billion euros. This adjustment reflects the company’s strong performance, which recorded a 12 percent increase in sales to over 2.1 billion euros in the third quarter.
MTU’s adjusted operating profit rose by almost a quarter to 339 million euros in the third quarter, significantly exceeding analysts’ average expectations. This positive development demonstrates the company’s increased efficiency and successful implementation of strategic initiatives. The bottom line is that MTU achieved a profit of 250 million euros, which corresponds to an increase of more than 18 percent.
Interestingly, the company’s full-year sales forecast remains unchanged at 8.6 to 8.8 billion euros. Nevertheless, the board expects a higher cash flow of 350 to 400 million euros. This discrepancy between sales stability and profit growth could be due to an improved cost structure and efficiency measures that MTU has implemented in recent months.
The MTU share reacted positively to the news and temporarily rose by 1.80 percent to 385.40 euros in XETRA trading. This price movement reflects investors’ confidence in the company’s ability to achieve its financial goals while growing in a challenging market environment. Analysts see the adjustment of the annual targets as a sign of MTU’s robust market position and the successful implementation of its business strategy.
