Mud, cancelled sets and zero vibes: Here’s what actually went down at Parklife 2025

If you were hoping Parklife 2025 would deliver a sun-soaked weekend of big sets and even bigger energy, you’ve probably spent the last 48 hours wiping mud off your shoes and regretting your entire personality for going.

From dead crowd energy to full stage closures, Parklife 2025 was less of a celebration and more of a soggy, underwhelming test of patience.

Here’s everything that made it feel like one long, wet group project you couldn’t drop out of.

Rain, mud, and nowhere to stand

It rained, a lot. And while we all know June in Manchester isn’t exactly beach weather, this time it turned Heaton Park into a mud pit. People were walking around covered in it, slipping, sliding, and trying to keep their shoes on.

Everyone was soaked. It wasn’t the worst weather in the world, but definitely enough to ruin the vibe.

Tiny crowd for Marc Rebillet

Marc Rebillet, known for chaotic, improvised sets, showed up ready to go. The crowd? Not so much. Barely anyone was there, and the people who were mostly just stood around. Online, people were joking that the small turnout was actually embarrassing, considering how well-known he is in other places.

Dead energy all weekend

You could feel it, the crowd just wasn’t into it. Even during bigger sets, barely anyone was moving. No dancing, no energy, just a lot of standing around and waiting for something to happen.

If you came for atmosphere, you probably left disappointed.

One of the biggest hits of the weekend was the sudden closure of the Matinee stage, which meant Josh Baker and Chris Stussy’s sets were scrapped completely. No announcement, no backup, just gone. Officials said it was due to safety concerns.

People who came specifically to see them were left wandering, soaked and annoyed.

One guy stepped in to stop a fight and got hit himself

At one point, a fight broke out. Apparently, a group of girls were trying to start on another girl, and the guy she was with stepped in to protect her. He ended up getting hit instead.

No major injuries reported, but just another example of the weekend’s chaotic energy.

The 2025 disruption follows memories of last year’s Parklife, which saw everything from mudslides to mobile signal blackouts. Between the weather, the cancelled sets, the lack of crowd energy, and random fights, Parklife 2025 didn’t deliver much beyond stress and soggy clothes.

If you stayed home this year, you probably made the right choice.
