In just four months, 7 intentional homicides occurred, and later a case occurred in the PRD facilities of CDMX

Mexico City.- In just four months homicides multiplied in Cuajimalpamayor’s office governed by Carlos Orvañanoswhich while at the beginning of the year was listed as one of the most peaceful districts in Mexico City, is now ranked as one of the four most dangerous by the National Citizen Observatory.
Between last May and August, seven investigation files were opened for allegedly intentional homicides that occurred in the territory governed by Orvañanos Rea, as revealed by the most recent reports from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
This number of murders contrasts with the fact that during the first four months of 2025, only one death was counted due to intentional homicide, which according to SESNSP open data would have occurred in January.
After these murdersin August the mayor’s office that Carlos Orvañanos has once again governed for a year, was evaluated by the National Citizen Observatory as one of the four in which residents are most at risk of being murdered, along with Cuauhtémoc, Miguel Hidalgo, and Xóchimilco; demarcations where Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, Mauricio Tabe, and Circe Camacho are councillors, respectively.
The above results from the fact that in these municipalities, more than one intentional homicide is committed per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Following the latest figures recorded by the SESNSP, Cuaiimalpa was the scene of various violent events of media significance. The last of these was the murder that would have occurred in the PRD facilities in the demarcation, an incident for which the investigation folder FICUJ/UAT/-CUJ-1/UI-1S/D/01379/07-2025 was opened; as revealed in a statement by the local leadership of the party, in the hands of the local deputy, Nora Arias Contreras.
“The leadership (…) distances itself from the events that occurred at the facilities of this political institute in Cuajimalpa,” the capital’s PRD said in its message.
