Country star Zac Brown has upset gig goers after his show at the Las Vegas Sphere featured ‘satanic’ visuals.
This weekend, the 47-year-old singer and his band played to a packed Las Vegas Sphere, with some seriously intense projections on the 360 screen.
At one point in his show, a huge skeleton adorned with a crown appeared as flames engulfed the bottom of the 160,000-square-foot LED screen.
The singer himself also donned a large silver bone crown for the hellish section of his Love & Fear gig.
While the animations might have gone down a storm at a metal gig, Zac’s more conservative country fanbase did not approve.
His Instagram posts about the gigs – which did not feature clips of the skeleton – was flooded with religious comments.
‘Do you even know who your audience is?’ asked rachel.bush93 under the Chicken Fried singer’s latest post.
‘Pray for Zac brown and his band as they have fallen into temptation of evil! You definitely lost a lot of good listeners after that evil performance.’ _bigserg said.
On X, mrprayedup wrote: ‘This is a Zac Brown country concert. This is worshipping Satan as far as I’m concerned. Just a whole demon ritual at this point.’
Others were less concerned, as Cam_Oflage joked: ‘Imagining going to the Zac Brown concert to hear him sing about cold beer on a Friday night and then just screaming in terror for 2 hours straight at giant fiery skeletons trying to grab me.’
Brokenciggies laughed: ‘Zac Brown Band does not have a single song that warrants these visuals 😭😭😭😭.’
‘What a weird visual for the softest music,’ shr3d wrote on the Sphere’s official Instagram.
More fans who attended the show said it was ‘incredible’ to see live, defending Zac’s creative decisions.
in_escrow_indefinitely shared: ‘Unbelievable show!! ZBB never disappoints and only gets better and better. The whole experience was FIRE!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥’
‘INCREDIBLE show, one of the coolest experiences of my life! We have seen Zac Brown band play several times at the Gorge in WA but this was on such another level, just totally unforgettable!’ said lyndseynclark2018.
The Zac Brown gig sees the band play their biggest hits with frontman Zac sharing details about his life story along the way.
They played the 20,000 capacity Vegas venue for two sold-out shows on December 5 and 6, with four gigs still to come across the next two weeks.
So far, they have not addressed the ‘satanic’ claims and instead have been promoting their new album Love & Fear, which dropped on December 5.
Ahead of the shows, Zac appeared on The Rich Eisen Show and shared that he wanted to ‘create a spectacle’.
He said: ‘We’re also telling a story. It’ll be the first of its kind in that scenario. The title, Love and Fear, you can boil most of your decisions in your life based on one of those two things.
‘I try not to base my decisions on fear, but on the love of doing something and believing that it’s a worthy cause. The juxtaposition that we get to create in the content of being able to be there.
‘Every one of the human emotions, we’re gonna try to pull on that string. There’s horror, jump scare moments going on to soaring, beautiful things. A rise and fall of tension and release, kind of like the storms we all go through in life.’
