Former Coronation Street star Sonia Ibrahim has given birth.
The actress portrayed the role of Mel Maguire in the ITV soap from December 2016-October 2017.
The character worked as an assistant at a tanning shop that Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) was running. Mel featured in the storyline that saw Nathan groom Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Last year, Sonia joined the cast of Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. She portrays Kat Omari in the show, a woman who was living in a safe house alongside her son Jacob.
Sonia is already mum to a little girl. She shares her with husband Arron Machin, and announced the pregnancy news back in August 2020.

At the time, she said: ‘I am absolutely over the moon and feel unbelievably blessed to announce that myself and my amazing husband are expecting a beautiful little baby GIRL.
‘Nothing in this world can top the feeling and excitement of knowing that I am going to be a mama, and I can promise one thing, above anything else, that I am going to love, adore, and cherish my little princess more than anything in this world.’
A couple of days ago, Sonia took to her Instagram to reveal to followers that she has given birth to a baby boy. The black and white picture sees Sonia cradling the little tot, called Carter, with mum and son’s noses touching to really add to the cuteness.
