Nasreddine Nabi leads Chiefs into pre-season with Dutch tour

Nasreddine Nabi and Kaizer Chiefs will officially return for pre-season training on Friday, 20 June, as per FARPost. As they build on the 2025/2026 campaign following their Nedbank Cup triumph.

Nabi’s continued presence at the helm puts an end to recent speculation about his future. The Tunisian tactician, who steered the club to silverware for the first time in a decade by defeating Orlando Pirates in the 2025 Nedbank Cup final, remains firmly in charge.

Trophy success ends decade-long drought

Kaizer Chiefs’ victory in the Nedbank Cup not only restored pride at Naturena but also fulfilled one of Nabi’s major mandates, ending the club’s long-standing trophy drought. The triumph came despite a disappointing league finish that saw Chiefs miss out on the top eight. However, they still secured qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup, offering a vital continental platform for the new season.

Nabi’s technical team will oversee the first training session at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena. Players will begin with medical assessments, before shifting focus to fitness work and tactical drills. While most of the squad will return on Friday, a few players are expected to join on Monday.

Chiefs confirm Dutch pre-season camp

Amakhosi have announced a European pre-season tour, with a camp scheduled in the Netherlands from 3 to 19 July. While Chiefs have yet to reveal their match schedule during the trip, the overseas stint signals their ambition to sharpen up against European opposition.

The club has officially parted ways with Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, Edmilson Dove, and Njabulo Blom. Blom returns to St. Louis City SC in Major League Soccer following the expiry of his loan deal.

Several more departures look imminent. Mduduzi Mdantsane, Fiacre Ntwari, George Matlou, and Edson Castillo are all reportedly on the verge of leaving Naturena, as Chiefs clear space for fresh talent.

Former Pirates duo join Amakhosi

While the club has not formally announced any new signings. A source revealed that former Orlando Pirates defenders Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako have joined Kaizer Chiefs.
