The municipality of Naucalpan has little interest in the well-being of the animals and pets in the perimeter, since they barely registered a single goal to meet this year, in terms of protection to them, of the 272 objectives in various areas that make up the structure of the site.

Regarding this single goal, no indicator registers progress. In recent days, a security camera located in the municipality run by Isaac Martin Montoyacaptured the moment when two subjects who have not yet been identified, walked to the edge of a ravine located on Sierra Morena Street, in the Vicente Guerrero neighborhood, to throw a red plastic bag, which contained a cat inside.

Although local residents requested help to identify those responsible, it has not arrived. However, the lack of interest on the part of the authorities is reflected in the management of their institutional objectives, since according to the indicators proposed by the Environmental Directorate, interest in the well-being of dogs has only one indicator for their attention.

During this year, the municipality, through the aforementioned Directorate, barely set a goal for the conservation and animal protection. The objective indicates the intention to measure the percentage of animals cared for for their protection, control, and well-being. This goal does not have a single progress recorded, with the cutoff date of October 27.

The most worrying thing is that said indicator does not have an update on the programmed, adjusted goals and, of course, what has been achieved, in three quarters already completed. Therefore, it is not surprising that animal abuse is present on the streets of the municipality of Naucalpanbecause from its institutional structure, animals are not a priority.

Neighbors of the Vicente Guerrero neighborhood expressed their indignation at the lack of action by the municipal government. “It is a shame that the City Council does nothing, not even for such a cruel case,” said María Luisa Hernández, who assures that institutional abandonment encourages animal abuse.
