Neighbours legend Jason Donovan may be best known to soap fans as Scott Robinson, but he is set to appear as someone completely different in ITV soap Emmerdale.
Scott Robinson first hit our screens in 1985, played by Darius Perkins, before Jason took over the role in 1986.
During his time on Ramsay Street, Scott’s biggest storyline involved his relationship with Kylie Minogue’s character Charlene Mitchell, with their romance increasing viewership of the show.
When the duo got married on screen in 1987, their wedding attracted two million Australian viewers, before being watched by a further 19.6 million when it aired on BBC One 16 months later.
Jason reprised his role as Scott for a single episode in 2022, alongside Kylie, when the show was cancelled for the first time.

Who will Jason Donovan play in Emmerdale?
It has now been reported that the Australian actor is set to make an appearance in the Emmerdale village as himself, in a bid to surprise Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) after she misses out on seeing him in concert.
Fans of the actor will know that he is also a famed singer, having sold over 30 million records worldwide.
He has also appeared in countless musicals, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.
‘Everyone was really excited Jason was up for taking part,’ a source told The Sun about his Emmerdale cameo.
‘It was really fun and Jason was a real pro, he enjoyed the cameo.’

Jason has reportedly already filmed the top-secret scenes.
He is not the only soap star in the family, with daughter Jemma Donovan having also appeared in Neighbours as Harlow Robinson.
More recently, she joined the cast of Hollyoaks as villain Rayne Royce – a social media influencer who was found dead in a swimming pool moments after her abuse of Romeo Nightingale was exposed.
In 2024, it was revealed that she had suffered a head injury after being pushed onto concrete by Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), before being pushed into the pool by Romeo in self-defence during a vicious attack against him.
