Thanks to the popularity of streaming services, binge-watching TV shows has almost become an addiction for many users since it can be so enjoyable. Sadly, however, the truth is that it can sometimes be hard for people to find a new series to devour that will be worthy of their time.
Fortunately for Netflix’s many users, the streaming service will soon be adding a show that seems like it is virtually screaming to be the next series that many of them binge. That is the case because the company will soon bring a series that has been named as one of the “best cop shows of all time” to its library of shows.
All Seasons of The Closer Are Coming to Netflix on December 22nd, 2025

On November 30, 2025, Netflix’s official website published an article revealing all of the TV shows and movies that would be coming to the streaming service in December 2025. That article revealed that on December 22, 2025, all seven seasons of The Closer will premiere on Netflix in America.
The crime drama police procedural series originally aired on TNT from June 13, 2005, to August 13, 2012. While the show aired 7 seasons, it won’t take as long for Netflix users to binge the series as they may think. Due to relatively short seasons that spanned from 13 to 21 episodes, there are only 109 total episodes of the show. That may appeal to anyone who worried it would be too much of a time commitment to binge the series.
The Closer Is an Acclaimed Series That Has Passed the Test of Time
Throughout television history, crime dramas has proven to be a very popular genre. As a result, it seems like there has been a virtually endless list of cop shows produced, with some of them garnering loyal fan followings. With so much competition, a show would have to be pretty special to be considered a classic by fans. With that in mind it is impressive that when Screen Rant published a list of the “best cop shows of all time” in September 2024, they included The Closer on the list.
As noteworthy as that is, it could be argued that The Closer appearing on that list only represents one person’s opinion, even if the author would claim to be an expert on the subject. That is why it is important to note that The Closer’s high quality has a long history of being celebrated by those who would be in a position to judge.
IMDb’s article listing the accolades that The Closer earned during its run listed an impressive 11 trophy wins and an additional 73 nominations. Those numbers become even more noteworthy when you learn that The Closer was nominated or won SAG, Prime Emmy, and Golden Globe awards, among others. The show’s main star, Kyra Sedgwick, was especially singled out for nominations, and she won a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy.
