The New England Patriots have unveiled their brand new jerseys as part of a collaboration with Nike. Teams who received these new “rivalries” unis are either in the AFC East or the NFC West.
“The Nor’easter is here. Introducing the Patriots 𝙉𝙁𝙇 𝙉𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 uniform,” read the caption of a post on the Patriots’ official Instagram page on Aug. 28.
Pats fans have beenreacting to the new jerseys, which are a dusty blue color with black and white shoulder accents and small red details, on social media. While a few people seemed to like the play on New England weather and the overall color scheme, many felt the new unis completely missed the mark — and even looked more like other team colors than the tried and true red, white, blue and silver of the Pats.
“Ok I actually like these,” one person commented.
“Oh my god these are fire,” someone else said.
Other social media users didn’t feel the same way, comparing the colors and style to that of the Indianapolis Colts.
“So they’re cosplaying as the Colts?” a third Instagram user asked.
“It looks like someone took a photo of the chargers uniforms and reduced the saturation all the way,” a fourth comment read.
The new jerseys were confirmed during the 2025 draft, but were just revealed today.
“Everyone loves good rivalries, which have the power to connect and transform athletes, fans, teams and entire communities,” Nike said in a press release on day 2 of the NFL draft, according to USA Today. “The 2025 Rivalries uniforms will celebrate storied local traditions and unite fan communities with designs unique to select cities and teams. The designs are rooted extensively in the legacies and inspirations true to each team, serving as authentic, competitive expressions of community pride while giving athletes and fans an opportunity to connect like never before.”
We’re a little over a week away from the first game of the season. The Patriots will host the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. local time. Fans won’t get to see the new jerseys in action until the Pats play the New York Jets on November 13.
