The president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again filed a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.
The president of the United States is suing them for $15 billion just a month after a similar action was dismissed by a judge.
Trump has intensified his hostility toward the media since returning to the White House.
The method has been through million-dollar lawsuits and restricting access to their press conferences.
“This legal action concerns numerous defamatory, false and malicious statements about President Trump made by the people sued for two articles and a book,” says the lawsuit filed on Thursday, to which AFP had access.
In September, Florida federal judge Steven Merryday dismissed an initial lawsuit against the New York Times.
The above due to its inappropriate style, the praise of Trump and its excessive length of 85 pages.
The magistrate gave 28 days to present it again.
The new lawsuit is against The New York Times for publishing a book by the newspaper about Trump’s fortune.
The lawsuit includes three of its journalists and the publisher Penguin Random House,
“The statements at issue wrongfully defame and disparage President Trump’s hard-earned professional reputation, which he meticulously built over decades before entering the White House,” the lawsuit states.
In July, Trump sued tycoon Rupert Murdoch and The Wall Street Journal for about $10 billion.
This after the media revealed the existence of a book and an alleged letter that the president sent to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
That same month, the Paramount group agreed to pay $16 million to the president.
This is according to coverage by the CBS News channel’s “60 Minutes” program.
Trump accused the program of manipulating an interview with Republican candidate Kamala Harris, then his rival in the elections, to favor her.
