Nezahualcóyotl prepares for a celebration with art, culture, cinema and tradition from October 23 to November 9

Nezahualcóyotl, State of MexicoOctober 19, 2025..- With the objective of preserving Mexican traditions, promoting family coexistence and strengthening community identity, the Municipal Government of Nezahualcoyotl announced the realization of the Day of the Dead Festival “NezaMictlán 2025”, which will take place from October 23 to November 9.
Municipal president Adolfo Cerqueda Rebollo reported that this edition will have an extensive cultural, artistic and recreational program that seeks to turn the municipality into an epicenter of traditional expression during the season of the dead.
“In Neza we celebrate life through remembrance, and these activities unite us as a community. They allow us to pay tribute to those who are no longer physically present, but are still present in our hearts,” said Cerqueda during the official announcement.
Catrinas, cinema, horror and tradition
Among the featured activities are the now traditional caravans of catrinas and catrines, which will travel through the main avenues of the municipality on three different routes:
Northern zone: Thursday, October 30, Valle de Aragón 1st. section to Impulsora colony.
Central zone: Friday, October 31, from the State of Mexico neighborhood to the Evolución neighborhood.

Eastern zone: Saturday, November 1, from Colonia Rey Neza to the Esplanade of the Municipal Palace.
All the caravans will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be accompanied by music, typical costumes and troupes.
In addition, from October 23 to 25, Parque del Pueblo will host the “Necro Film Fest”, a horror film series with outdoor screenings, talks and interactive dynamics, ideal for fans of the genre.
The Day of the Dead Expo, from October 25 to November 2, will transform the Municipal Esplanade into a thematic market with the sale of crafts, marigold flowers, bread of the dead and typical seasonal products.

For those looking for more intense experiences, the Parque del Pueblo will offer the House of Terror and the staging of “La Llorona”, from October 30 to November 2. Both activities promise to combine spectacle, oral tradition and scenic setting.
On October 31, the festival will also hold the “Muerteada Pal’ Barrio” at CEMUA, El Sol neighborhood, a community event with various artistic expressions for the whole family.
Finally, the closing of the festival will be with the Monsters and Zombies Walk, on November 9, an activity that invites neighbors and visitors to dress up and walk the streets of the municipality in a festive and safe atmosphere.

With “NezaMictlán 2025”, Nezahualcóyotl consolidates itself as a reference in the celebration of the Day of the Dead, combining tradition, creativity and citizen participation.
