Nick Cannon, Father of 12, Has an ‘Issue’ With Co-Parenting

Nick Cannon, who shares 12 children with six different women, has an “issue” with co-parenting.

“The label co-parenting, I’ve always kind of had an issue,” Cannon, 44, said during a recent episode of his podcast, “Nick Cannon @ Night.” “Because why do we have to have the co, we’re just parents. When you start throwing labels on things, I think it does more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you’re doing.”

The Wild N’ Out host added, “If I just step into every situation with respect and compassion and individuality…That’s the other thing I always do with anyone I’m involved with in my life.”

Cannon first became a father when he welcomed twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey. After the couple’s 2014 split, Cannon had son Golden Sagon with Brittany Bell in February 2017. The pair also share daughter Powerful Queen, whom they welcomed in December 2020, and son Rise Messiah, born in September 2022.

Twin boys Zion Mixolydian & Zillion Heir, whom he shares with Abby De La Rosa, were born in June 2021. Alyssa Scott gave birth to a son, Zen, later that month. Zen died in December 2021 of brain cancer. De La Rosa and Cannon also share daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, born in November 2022. Scott gave birth to the couple’s second child, Halo Marie, the following month.

Legendary Love, whom Cannon shares with Bre Tiesi, was born in July 2022. LaNisha Cole gave birth to the pair’s daughter, Onyx Ice, that September.

“I really try my hardest not to be like, ‘Oh yeah, my baby mamas,'” Cannon continued. “Unless I’m telling a joke or something like that, but no one wants to be grouped into anything. Everyone wants to be treated like an individual with respect and compassion.”
