Nicolas Jackson’s agent has sent a firm response to Chelsea’s request for their striker to return to London and end his hopes of signing for Bayern Munich.

The Senegal international was deemed surplus to requirements earlier this summer following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

Jackson was told in no uncertain terms by Enzo Maresca that he had no future at Chelsea after two red cards in what appeared to be his last six games for the club.

After flying to Munich on Saturday afternoon, the former Villarreal striker had been hoping to complete a season-long loan deal.

Bayern had been willing to pay a €15million loan fee and would have retained the option to make the deal a permanent one for €80m next summer.

The picture changed dramatically on Saturday afternoon, however, after Delap sustained a hamstring injury in a 2-0 win over Fulham.

With Pedro left standing as Chelsea’s only recognised striker, Jackson was ordered to return immediately and abandon any idea of signing for the the German champions.

Chelsea’s request, however, appears to have fallen on deaf ears if the response of Diomansy Kamara, Jackson’s agent, is anything to go by.

The former Fulham and West Brom striker reposted a story on Instagram about his client’s predicament and added the caption ‘Airplane doesn’t walk backward’.

Bayern will attempt to revive the deal and sporting director Max Erbel was asked about the controversial situation after Saturday’s 2-0 win against Augsburg.

He said: ‘Transfers are only finalized once the signatures are in place. He [Jackson] is there, and then we’ll see.

‘We’ll take a closer look at it after the game and act accordingly. It’s easy to understand:

‘You negotiate, you reach an agreement, then comes the medical check, and extraordinary things still happen. I can’t say what’s going on now.’

Delap, meanwhile, is looking at a prolonged period on the sidelines after his first competitive start at Stamford Bridge ended inside 15 minutes.

‘Liam’s injury doesn’t look good,” said Maresca. ‘He was full speed, hamstring, so that requires weeks.

‘When you have two strikers it’s enough. When one of them is injured for weeks, probably it’s not enough. Today we played more than an hour with Tyrique (George), he did brilliant.

‘When you have two proper nines, it’s enough.’
