Nigerian goalkeeper to Kaizer Chiefs? – Bundlezy

Nigerian goalkeeper to Kaizer Chiefs?

There’s high anticipation for Kaizer Chiefs to find and announce a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season.

Amakhosi’s Rwandan international Fiacre Ntwari faces the exit door, while Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen have shown promise but are yet to grab the opportunity.

According to new reports, Lobi Stars goalkeeper Japhet Opubo is being considered for a move to Naturena from the Nigerian Premier League.

The 30-year-old Opuba, who wore the gloves for Baylsa, FC Heartland, Enugu Rangers and Sunshine Stars in Nigeria, earned two clean sheets out of 12 matches in the Nigerian Premier League this term. In the CAF Champions League, Opuba has collected two clean sheets out of four outings.

Kaizer Chiefs linked with these seven international signings

“Japhet Opubo is a top goalkeeper who has proven himself in Nigeria over the past few seasons and he could be a good addition at a big club like Kaizer Chiefs,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“His representatives are assessing options for him, and there is a possibility that he can be offered to Kaizer Chiefs,” the insider added.

In the meantime, Amakhosi are linked with the likes of Renaldo Leaner from Sekhukhune United, and the Malian Djigui Diarra from Young Africans in the Tanzanian Premier League.
