The “Dn” in the name of these shoes refers to the Dynamic Air system that uses dual-pressure tubes—firmest in the heel, softest in the midfoot. This disparity works to smooth the heel-to-toe transition as you walk or run, which Nike says creates a responsive sensation with every step. The mesh upper and foam midsole add breathability and cushioning, respectively. Aesthetically, they’re decidedly high-tech and futuristic thanks to exposed air tubes, textured upper, and distinct color palettes.

One reviewer self-described as something of an expert on Air Maxes. “I have purchased a bunch of Air Max shoes, including the 1s, 90s, 97s, Plus, 270s, and now the Dns,” they wrote, calling the Dns “the most comfortable of the lot.” That’s because they “feel airy and my feet don’t hurt at all even after 20k steps of walking in a day.” That makes them a “must-have” that is “seriously very underrated.”
