Nintendo Adds Classic Game to Switch Expansion Pack for Mature Audiences

If you are a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber looking for something a little more violent than Excitebike or Star Fox, this update is for you. 

Subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack now have access to Forsaken 64.

Released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, the game is a first-person shooter on a motor bike flying through a busted up planet Earth that is recovering from an attack by a mechanized menace.

Rated MA-17, Forsaken 64 was a highly regarded game in its day, garnering a review score of 8/10 from Ian and 8.5/10 from GameSpot when it was new, although the PC version scored even higher according to Wikipedia. 

Per Nintendo, players are dropped into a futuristic version of “Earth that is a death trap riddled with merciless mechanic adversaries and Ganges of rival bounty hunters.”  

“You are a ruthless mercenary, sent to the condemned remains of Earth as part of a covert operation codenamed ‘Forsaken.’ Your mission is to infiltrate and destroy the last bastions of the mechanized terror that wiped out all life on the planet.

As you would expect, the game features different bikes with different features and separate characters with unique dispositions.

What is the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack?

Of note: Access to this game will require subscribing to the Expansion Pack with the Switch online service. 

That brings with it access to Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games as well as some other features for all Switch users while players with a Switch 2 also get access to a library of GameCube titles. 

Other Nintendo 64 games include GolednEye 007, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Subscribers to the basic Switch Online service get access to games for NES, Super NES and Game Boy as well as the ability to play against others online, back up save data and use voice chat in compatible games.

The Expansion Pack also includes access to Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade packs for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom as well as DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2.
