Los Angeles, December 1 (La Opinion).- The Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noemsaid that, after a meeting with the President Donald Trumprecommended a complete travel ban on all countries she says send dangerous immigrants to USA.
“I just met with the President. I recommend a total travel ban on all countries that have been flooding our nation with murderers, leeches and entitlement junkies,” Noem said.
“Our ancestors built this nation with blood, sweat, and an unwavering love for freedom, not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, drain our hard-earned taxes, or take away the benefits we owe Americans. We don’t want them. Not one of them,” the Secretary of Homeland Security’s message concludes.
Noem’s comments come after an Afghan immigrant shot two members of the National Guard last week in Washington, one of whom has died.
Noem criticized the process, claiming that Lakanwal was not properly vetted and blaming the Biden administration for what she described as inadequate screening of Afghans and other foreign nationals during President Joe Biden’s term.
Noem said investigators believe the defendant, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, was already living in Washington state when he adopted extremist views.
“We believe he has been radicalized since he came to this country,” he told NBC News. “We believe it was through connections in his community and state, and we will continue to speak with those who interacted with him, his family members.”
As a result of the attack, Trump himself announced that asylum applications are frozen until the standards for reviewing each request are tightened and that he has paralyzed all immigration procedures for Afghan citizens, including those who had worked with US forces.
He has also threatened to “permanently” block immigration from what he has described as “Third World countries,” although without specifying which states these states would be.
