A little over a year after having conquered the National Auditorium for the first time, Odysseusthe original group de Ecatepecis preparing to return to the emblematic venue next November 1e, with a show that promises to consolidate its place within the national alternative rock scene.
Odisseo returns to the National Auditorium
To Daniel Leon (guitar) and Juan Pablo Muñoz (voice), members of Odisseo, this second presentation at the Coloso de Reforma represents much more than a simple concert, since it is a symbol of growth and artistic maturity.
“It is an immense satisfaction because the band continues to grow; we are advancing at a very cool speed for our career,” Juan Pablo shared in an interview with the newspaper.
Unlike the first time, this time comes with less nerves and more desire to enjoy. “The first time was pure emotion, almost a mirage, but with this second time we reaffirm that Odisseo’s career is going strong, that we belong to this type of scenario,” the musicians added.
“Unexpected Storms”: between metaphor and maturity
The concert will be framed by his most recent production, Unexpected stormsare fifth studio album, that—in the words of the band—the concept represents a metaphor about the ups and downs of adult life.
“The storm is not necessarily like a frustration or a problem; but we also use the metaphor that water serves to irrigate, fertilize and bear fruit in the future. Now we can say in a very optimistic way that we overcame those storms and are in a better stage of our lives,” Juan Pablo shared.
With almost 15 years of experience and five studio albums, Odisseo has found a connection in its audience that grows with each release. “Each album adds more people. At first it was unthinkable to fill a National Auditorium, but with each material the audience expands,” Dani mentioned.
Sound evolution without losing the essence
Although their sound has evolved over time, Odisseo maintains the essence that characterizes them: synthesizers, electric guitars, emotionality and dramatic, romantic-painful songs. They have also explored and invested in better instruments to make the musical offering broader.
“We have always been clear about our sound. We have changed instruments, effects, producers, which has contributed to each of the albums sounding different; but we continue to defend the genre that we love: alternative rock, because it would be very easy perhaps to say: “This is no longer popular and we are going to do reggaeton or some other artistic expression that is fashionable”, but no, we really like the genre that we do,” Dani explained.
Reflecting on current music and digital consumption, Odisseo is committed to maintaining the format of discos completos.
“Although the industry dictates releasing singles, we continue to believe in complete albums, in encapsulating a stage of our lives, the age and the context in which we develop, so “each song has its space and its story,” they commented.
Odysseus between bets and maturity
Looking back, the musicians recognize that Every investment in your career has been a gamble that paid off.
“We were never afraid to invest in a producer, a good studio or in video clips. That has made each album surpass the previous one, even if that sometimes means compromising the income that could be destined for the pockets of each of the members,” they stated.
This mentality has also made them references for new generations.
“We know that there are kids who want to become like us, that’s why we try to be a good influence on and off stage[…] That is the true responsibility that you begin to have, when you have a certain level of fame or popularity, ‘to have a good reputation and be good people,’” they highlighted.
Ritual before the show and what’s coming for Odisseo
Regarding whether there is any prior ritual when going on stage, the musicians confessed with laughter that Their only custom is not to have rituals.
“We like to be together, relaxed, joking, without dramatizing the moment. The important thing is to stay calm before that explosion of very cool adrenaline that comes when we go out on stage,” they shared.
And as to how they see themselves in 10 years, the answer is clear: “Making music. As long as we continue to enjoy what we do with this strong bond of friendship and creativity, everything else is secondary.”.

To close, the band sent a special message to their fans heading into the concert on November 1:
“The true motivation of going to an Odisseo concert is to have a good time with the people you love. Go dressed up, enjoy and live the energy that at that moment we are all Odisseo.”
