Officials Identity Murder Weapon of Man Killed at ‘Burning Man’

Authorities in Nevada believe they have recovered the weapon used in the murder of Burning Man attendee Vadim Kruglov.

Kruglov, 37, was found in a pool of blood at the annual desert gathering on Saturday, Aug. 30. A native of Siberia, Russia living in Tacoma, Washington, Kruglov arrived for the festival with friends on Aug. 24.

Four days after the discovery of the body, the victim was positively identified as Kruglov.

In a press conference Wednesday, the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office revealed that it is in possession of a knife suspected to be the murder weapon in the case.

The apparent cause of death was a single stab wound to Kruglov’s neck. The alleged murder remains under investigation.

Still no suspect

While law enforcement officials say they have received hundreds of tips, they have yet to identify a potential suspect in the killing.

The matter remains under investigation, with Secret Witness offering a $5,000 reward for information.

Friends, family in mourning

Igor Kruglov, the father of the murdered man, attempted to express his grief and demand justice in a heartfelt video on social media earlier this month.

“He felt injustice deeply and fought for fairness always. I believe a similar situation occurred here,” Igor said. “This world is often unfair, but as a peaceful man, I seek justice. I want those responsible to face consequences.”

One of Kruglov’s friends, a woman identified as Sofia, said they are hoping to see their companion remembered for the impact he had while alive, not how he died.

“We want Vadim to be remembered as the talented, bright, and inspiring human being that he was. Let his memory remain as a creator, a dreamer, and a man who gave love,” Sofia said.
