Oh god, Drag Race’s Willam is roasting RuPaul (again) in her most shady interview yet

Willam has never minced her words when it comes to her opinion of RuPaul, but in a new shady interview, she absolutely dragged the queer matriarch while paying tribute to a man often overlooked by both Drag Race viewers, and RuPaul herself.

When Willam entered the Werkroom in RuPaul’s Drag Race season four, history was made. Alongside other legends such as Latrice Royale, Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, and the late Jiggly Caliente, Willam cemented herself as drag queen royalty when she was disqualified from the competition over “conjugal visits” from her husband. Despite only appearing in one season of the show, unlike other queens who are on their fourth attempt at this point, Willam remained one of the most iconic queens thanks to her no-nonsense attitude and brutal comebacks. Meanwhile, Willam and RuPaul’s fraught relationship is as iconic as the queens themselves.

“I don’t like how she treats people. I’m at a point in my career where I work with people I want to work with who treat me how I want to be treated, and who treat others how they would want to be treated. RuPaul has a lot of great qualities, but she does not treat others how she would want to be treated. When I treated her how she treated me, she couldn’t take it,” Willam earlier said in a podcast appearance.

If we’ve learned anything from seventeen seasons, countless international editions, and over 600 queens, the icons of RuPaul’s Drag Race sure do know how to hold a grudge.

Okay, so what did Willam say about RuPaul this time?

Willam recently sat down with the MailOnline, where she discussed everything from the future of drag to Lady Gaga fighting for Drag Race stars to be in A Star is Born.

When questioned on what she would ask RuPaul if given the chance, Willam responded: “I would ask her if she went to visit her friend Mathu, yet. Because I know she hasn’t seen him in a while. He used to do her hair and her makeup, and her photography, her retouching. Basically everything.”

Mathu Andersen, a legendary staple of New York City nightlife, is basically the dog’s b*llocks when it comes to anything creative. He’s a makeup artist, hair stylist, costume designer, photographer, drag artist, filmmaker, and so on. Mathu was RuPaul’s long-time contributor, creating the RuPaul we know and love today, and he appeared often in the earlier seasons of Drag Race.

Mathu worked with RuPaul up until season nine of Drag Race when an alleged pay dispute ended their decades-long friendship. Mathu has since been hospitalised with an undisclosed illness.

“The good people at World of Wonder are nice enough to foot the bill for his care. But, nobody goes to visit him, which is weird, other than me, because I see the sign-out sheet,” she continued.

“So yeah, I would ask her if she’s visited Mathu recently because she always credits her crossing over and finally making it to the fact that she adopted this big blonde supermodel person at the time, and the person who put that on her was a gentleman called Mathu Andersen.”

RuPaul doesn’t tend to respond to Willam’s outbursts, but never say never!
