Louis Tomlinson has sent One Direction fans into overdrive after sharing a video on social media that appears to be teasing something big.
The One Direction star, 33, posted two videos on TikTok recently mysteriously captioned with, ‘Costa Rica. 9th May 2025,’ and, ‘Costa Rica. 20th May 2025.’
In them, he can be seen seemingly recording music. But on closer inspection this may not be a solo project, as fans are convinced in the audio for one of the videos – consisting of two harmonised notes – they could hear Harry Styles and Zayn Malik’s voices.
The second video Louis posted also saw a vague reflection of someone in the studio with him, which many people were convinced was Zayn, 32.
The comments section on the posts have well and truly exploded, with many people suggesting this reeks of a One Direction reunion tease after their heartbreaking 2016 hiatus.
Of course, the What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers will never be complete after Liam Payne died last year.

It was reported Payne, who died aged 31 after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina, was keen for a One Direction reunion before his death, so fans are speculating whether the other four men – Niall Horan, Harry, Zayn and Louis – could be releasing a song in tribute to their late bandmate.
‘IS THAT ZAYN IN THE REFLECTION?’ asked TikTiokker LivHoran on the second noteless video, as Lucas shouted: ‘YOUR TELLING ME THATS NOT ZAYN IN THE TV REFLECTION!’
‘Omg is that Zayn’s voice,’ said Dani, while Hope said: ‘I know I’m hearing Harry and Zayn’s voice, but I can’t prove it.’
‘Why am I hearing Harry and Zayn,’ said Becca Zilla, while another user said: ‘Sorry, but I hear Harry and Zayn???? OMG.’
‘It’s definitely Zayn’s voice, I don’t have proof but I don’t have any doubts either,’ said Mary Fer, while Fatima added: ‘It’s definitely Zayn’s voice, I don’t have proof but I don’t have any doubts either.’
Others thought they could hear Payne’s voice, which isn’t possible if the vocals were recorded in Costa Rica in May 2025, as the caption suggests.
However, others made the point that Payne left many songs recorded and they could be using some old material.
‘All I can focus on is that I hear Liam,’ commented Amelia.
‘I heard Liam immediately and Zayn! Louis and Zayn have been in NY and Tennessee together, they maybe doing a tribute to Liam?’ asked Teresa Bloomer.

‘I can hear them all.. WHY CAN I HEAR ALL OF THEM???’ added ediiitsxz, as others said they could also hear Niall’s voice in the short video.
‘My theory is they got some of Liam’s unreleased songs, found this vocal and decided to make a song with it as he always wanted to have the band back together,’ said Kaitlyn Schilder.
The timing seems right for a tribute to Payne, with the anniversary of his death coming up on October 16.
In March 2015, Zayn broke the hearts of fans across the world as he decided to leave the band. The group then went on a ‘hiatus’ in 2016 and has yet to reunite as a group.
Whose voices can you hear?

All of them

This is wishful thinking
While Zayn and Louis reportedly had bad blood after the Pillowtalk hitmaker left the band, earlier this month they were pictured reuniting for a mysterious project in the US.
After Payne’s death his grieving girlfriend Kate Cassidy explained how the singer died before realising his dream of reuniting with his former bandmates.
‘Liam loved One Direction. It was such a huge part of his life and career,’ she told The Sun.
‘Who didn’t love them? I think everybody had hopes for a reunion at some point.
‘Liam would have been more than happy in the future to do that. He was so proud of the boys. He loved them so much he looked at them as brothers.’
Kate added that 2030 will mark 20 years since they first got together, and it’s ‘so sad’ Payne will never get to relive his memories with the boys.
‘It’s so heartbreaking that the fans will never get to see all five boys back on stage together,’ she said.
