‘One of a kind’ mother dies after being found unconscious in alleyway by school

A woman has been found dead after suffering serious head injuries near to a primary school.

The 36-year-old named locally as Paris Kendall was discovered on Keighley Road in Halifax shortly before 1.33pm.

Officers pronounced her dead at the scene.

The woman’s death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

One family member posted on Facebook: ‘Our Paris.

‘No words at all, my beautiful big cousin, you did not deserve this. Rest in peace.’

Another posted: ‘This world’s a horrible place and the people in it are even worse.

‘Hope your mum’s found you up there and giving you the biggest cuddle.

‘You were one of a kind and your babies will remember you.’

Officers arrested a 40-year-old man from an address in Halifax. He continues to be questioned on suspicion of murder.

Police have taped off a stretch of footpath near Moorside Primary School on Keighley Road.

DCI Tom Levitt, who is leading the case, said: ‘We continue to hold a man in custody on suspicion of murder as enquiries continue into this very serious offence.

‘Clearly any such incident will cause shock in communities and officers from the Valley NPT are conducting reassurance patrols in the area today and speaking with community partners.

‘I can advise officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case, and we continue to support the victim’s relatives.’
