The state police executed the arrest warrant against “The Chesman“, leader of “The Scooters“, as alleged responsible for the crimes of gang activity and attacks against peace and the physical and property integrity of the community and the state, committed to the detriment of society for events that occurred on October 7, 2023 in San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
The detainee and other people were in the short-haul terminal, aboard motorcycles and vehicles, carrying firearms, sticks and stones. And they intimidated passers-by and merchants, demanding money in exchange for allowing them to travel with the products they were transporting to market.
It was learned that when they refused, they were physically attacked or their vehicles damaged.

“Héctor ‘N’, leader of a group that generates violence called “Los Motonetos”, is also related to the murder of the priest Marcelo Perezcommitted in October of last year.
Due to these events, he added, there is close coordination with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic to execute the federal arrest warrant for the crime of qualified homicide.

On Monday, with a pilgrimage and a mass, thousands of Catholics from different municipalities of Chiapas commemorated the first anniversary of the murder of the indigenous priest in San Andrés Larrainzar.
Catholics demanded justice and that those responsible for the murder be punished.
