The capital authorities deployed special operations to guarantee security during the Day of the Dead 2025 celebrations.
City of Mexico, 31 de vinegarbre (SinEmbargo).- The Mexico City (CdMx) will live a weekend full of tradition, color y mobility intense. This October 31, November 1 and 2, three of the most anticipated events of the year will take place. Day of the Dead: the Round of the Terrorhe Grand Day of the Dead Parade and visits to pantheons in all municipalities.
Below we tell you the schedules, routes, road closures and recommendations so that you can enjoy the celebrations without setbacks.
Round of Terror 2025
The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CdMx) implemented a special operation for the Round of Terror 2025, which began the afternoon of this Friday, October 31, with activities that will continue until Sunday, November 2.
350 officers and nine motorcycle trailers (“beasts”) will be deployed to monitor the development of the routes, prevent disturbances to public order and guarantee road safety.

In addition, activity is expected in at least 30 points in different municipalities.

- San Lorenzo Tlacoyucan (Milpa Alta): 6:30 p.m.
- San Juan Ixtayopan (Tláhuac): 7:00 p.m.
- Río Consulado (Venustiano Carranza): 8:00 p.m.
The SSC-CdMx asks motorists to drive with caution, heed traffic instructions, reduce speed and give way to pedestrians and motorcyclists.

Day of the Dead Parade
The Great Day of the Dead Parade 2025 will take place on Saturday, November 1, starting at 2:00 p.m., departing from the Puerta de los Leones del Bosque de Chapultepec.
The show will travel along the avenues Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas and Calle 5 de Mayo, until reaching the capital’s Zócalo.
The parade, of around eight kilometers, will bring together giant catrinas, alebrijes, monumental skulls and troupes.

The capital authorities announced a possible closure of the Zócalo/Tenochtitlan station (Line 2) of the Metro. In addition to adjustments on the Metrobús on lines 1, 3, 4 and 7.
Given the damage, they shared as alternative stations: Pino Suárez, Allende, San Juan de Letrán and Bellas Artes.

During the Day of the Dead celebrations, Mexico City’s cemeteries will extend their hours to receive thousands of visitors. The C5 installed 510 video surveillance cameras in 108 of the 113 cemeteries to reinforce security.

Among the recommendations, they highlighted going early to avoid crowds, avoiding carrying lit candles outside the designated areas and respecting the instructions of the Civil Protection personnel, as well as the Auxiliary Police.
The SSC-CdMx urged the population to plan trips, use public transportation and maintain caution in the face of road closures and high influx of people.
