Orlando Pirates announced their first signing on Tuesday with another signing also confirmed even before that.
On Tuesday, Pirates pulled off the marquee signing of Sipho Mbule, sending shockwaves across the local football fraternity
Pirates confirm Mbule as first signing
Mbule joins Pirates as a free agent, after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of last season. While many were still monitoring his situation with arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs, it was the Buccaneers who sealed the deal. But he is far from the only deal that they have agreed so far during this transfer window. He is, however, the first of many that they have announced officially.
There reportedly eight other players that are set to join him as new signings at Pirates. Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. The Sea Robbers are set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and all of those players are expected to be there.
While Pirates have not yet announced Moremi, his former club AmaZulu have taken the initiative. On Friday evening, Usuthu took to their social media platforms to confirm that the speedster had joined the Buccaneers, after they received and accepted an offer for his services.
AmaZulu confirm Moremi sale
“AmaZulu FC can also confirm that an offer from Orlando Pirates FC to acquire the rights to midfielder Tshepang Moremi has been accepted,” the club announced in a statement.
This rumoured was heightened in the morning of the announcement. Moremi took to his Instagram story and posted a throwback picture. This picture featured a younger version of himself, wearing a red Pirates jersey from the yesteryear, surrounded by other Buccaneers.
