Orlando Pirates have made headlines once again by unveiling a fresh batch of signings ahead of their pre-season training camp in Spain. However, the absence of one expected recruit has caused a stir.
Seven new faces join the Bucs’ camp
The Soweto giants officially welcomed seven new players to bolster their squad for the 2025/2026 campaign. Sihle Nduli, Yanela Mbuthuma, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Masindi Nemtajela, Tshepang Moremi, Tshepo Mashiloane, and Sinoxolo Kwayiba have all joined the Pirates’ camp as preparations intensify for a season that includes a return to the CAF Champions League.
This announcement follows a busy week for the club, which also saw the appointment of head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and the high-profile signing of Sipho Mbule. The club also launched their new kit for the upcoming season, adding to the sense of momentum around Mayfair.
Kgositsile’s name left out: Here’s why
One glaring omission from the list of new signings was midfielder Kabelo Kgositsile from Baroka FC. Reports previously suggested that the highly rated youngster had completed a move to Pirates, making his absence even more puzzling.
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has now set the record straight.
“Yes, (he signed with Pirates), but we agreed that he will join them next year,” Mphahlele confirmed, clearing up the confusion.
More Pirates transfers on the horizon
Despite the already significant influx of talent, Pirates are not yet done in the market. A source revealed that more additions are on the cards before the squad jets off to Spain.
“Pirates are finalising one or two signings before they leave for Spain,” the source disclosed, suggesting that fans should expect more surprises soon.
Did Orlando Pirates do the right thing by loaning Kabelo Kgositsile back?
