Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has touched on Relebohile Mofokeng’s future at the club.
The 20-year-old talented winger has been linked with a move away from the club since the end of last season. Mofokeng has attracted interest from teams from Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United States. It is believed that the club are looking to sell their star player to clubs in Europe’s top leagues.
The Buccaneers are looking to win big this season, having only won the MTN8 last campaign. With new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou taking over, it remains to be seen if Mofokeng will stay at Orlando Pirates in the coming weeks.
The Moroccan coach, though, wants the youngster to play another season in the PSL.
Mofokeng likely to stay at Orlando Pirates
“Such a talented player attracts a lot of clubs,” Ouaddou said. “I trust the board, I trust the club… He is one of the magical players and we need him to compete at the highest level. We need these kind of players in the team.
As a coach, I’m still confident but in football, you never know what could happen. I hope he will stay with us but we’ll see,” he said.
Orlando Pirates played their opening match against Polokwane City this past weekend in the MTN8 and Mofokeng played a full 90 minutes. He is likely to stay for another season as the Buccaneers wait for the ‘right team’.
Where should Mofokeng go?
