Sinoxolo Kwayiba was described as one of the best signings Orlando Pirates made in July but the midfielder is yet to make his mark.
In the four matches the Buccaneers played, the ex-Chippa United man only played once. In fact, he only got 21 minutes against Marumo Gallants, making four fouls.
When asked about Kwayiba’s absence, Orlando Pirates new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou said the player was doing a good job at training.
“Kwayiba is doing a fantastic job every day,” he said.
“I am very happy about his commitment. His professionalism. Like I said about the other players, his time will come, and he has to be ready to give his best for the club and for the team, like the many players you have seen today.
Kwayiba missing in action for Orlando Pirates
“They came, there have been lots of questions about them in the previous conferences, but they are here, and they have to perform.”
Orlando Pirates next face Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final second leg but it remains to be seen if Kwayiba will be given a run. Ouaddou has preferred to play Patrick Maswanganyi in the attacking midfield role while Relebohile Mofokeng has been shifted to a playmaker ‘number 10’ position.
Will Kwayiba ever get a chance to impress?
