Owen Hargreaves believes Manchester United are benefitting from a strong summer transfer window after they climbed into the top-four of the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim was fighting to save his job at Old Trafford just a matter of weeks ago but wins over Liverpool and Brighton have improved the mood at United.
Manchester United beat Premier League champions Liverpool 2-1 last weekend, clinching their first win at Anfield since 2016.
The Red Devils continued their encouraging run of form on Saturday, beating Brighton 4-2 to win three successive league games for the first time since the start of 2024.
Summer signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha contributed three of United’s four goals against Brighton, with Casemiro scoring the other with a deflected strike.

Mbeumo and Cunha, signed from Brentford and Wolves respectively over the summer, have been two of Manchester United’s most reliable players this season.
Hargreaves says United can ‘rely and ‘trust’ both Mbeumo and Cunha and says he already ‘loves’ the Brazilian, who joined for £62.5m.
‘I don’t think the performances have been amazing but the results speak for themselves,’ Hargreaves told Premier League Productions after his former club United beat Brighton.
‘If you think back to the first game of the season against Arsenal, that was a good performance but they somehow lost the game. The results are the most important thing.
‘When you have players like Matheus Cunha who have a real personality… I just love the way he talks and plays.
‘Cunha and Mbeumo along with Bruno Fernandes are guys that you can rely on and trust.
‘Manchester United are scoring goals and look dangerous, I would say they’re conceding more than they would like, 14 is a lot after nine games.
‘But I like the look of the team and the direction they’re going in. The goalkeeper [Senne Lammens] has made a difference as well.’
Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim reacts to Brighton win
Amorim was pleased with Manchester United’s victory over Brighton and said Cunha would be a ‘massive player’ for the club.
‘It is a good feeling,’ Amorim said. ‘To listen to the crowd, the joy, it is important. We need to enjoy that today but then prepare for the next one.
‘Everything can change really quickly, but if you have that feeling and still feel confident to work, we are going to be a better team.’
On Cunha, Amorim added: ‘He was struggling [previously]. He can hide that, but I understood that.
‘It is not a surprise the way he responded at Anfield or played today with and without the ball, and that is going to be massive for us.
‘He needs to score goals; he suffers when he doesn’t score, but he is a top player who decides games.’
Manchester United return to Premier League action next weekend against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.
