Poundland slash price of Father’s Day gifts to just 25 PENCE as mums rave there’s some ‘nice bits to get from the kids’
FATHER’S Day is on Sunday and if you haven’t got a gift yet, it could actually work in your favour.
Shoppers have shared how Poundland has slashed the prices of its gifts to just 25p ahead of the big day.

A bargain hunter uploaded a photo of the discounted products that they spotted in store, including 25p ‘best dad’ badges and 50p ‘dad’s taxi’ signs for the car.
Also discounted were beer bottle gift bags, themed mugs and beer openers.
They wrote on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK: “Poundland this afternoon loads of Father’s Day stuff reduced to 25p/50p.
“Some nice little bits to get from the kids.”
Her post has racked up numerous likes, from fellow bargain hunters.
However, some made the joke about the “best dad” items being put in the clearance section.
One commented: “Says it all really.”
Another added: “They never have appropriate gifts for the deadbeat dads!
“Always just amazing dad and superheroes.”
Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 15 and there are a number of free or small cost activities to guarantee your dad has the best time.
There are many places across the country that are giving dads free entry for one day only.
Dads go free all weekend at the Whitehouse Farm Centre, 30 minutes north of Newcastle. An adults entry costs £15.95 online or £16.95 on the day as a walk-in.
“Superhero dads” will also get free entry to Woodlands Leisure Park in Devon if the ticket is bought online in advance and with a child’s ticket. Tickets for an adult range from £20.93-£26.78 according to the website.

Other parks that offer similar deals include Twinlakes Park and Wheelgate Theme Park, Powderham Castle and Dartmoor Zoo.
The Eden Project in Cornwall is not only letting dad and grandads in for zero on Sunday, but they get a free pint if they dine in. A standard ticket is £38 online or £42 on the day.
If your dad prefers to open a gift on his big day, then there are some ways to get cheap presents for him.
Vodafone customers can get free socks from Sockshop and only pay £2.95 for postage. The offer is available until June 12 or until 30,000 pairs have been snapped up.
Co-op is giving away Walk a Mile with Dad t-shirts from July 11. There are 5,000 available and can be picked up on Co-op’s website.
There are also a number of restaurants doing special Father’s Day deals.
An ex employee on Poundland's prices

Holly Laing, 22, from Northampton, has revealed she used to work in Poundland and often heard customers say the same annoying thing.
Holly claimed she worked for Poundland in 2015 for three months as a Christmas temp.
She said that customers would get annoyed when products cost more than £1 individually.
In a comical video, Holly acted out a scenario that often occurred on her shift at the bargain store, where customers were always baffled and irritated that items could cost over £1.
Holly uploaded her video with the caption “I heard this a lot” as she said: “POV: Not everything’s £1 in Poundland”.
Holly explained that customers would often say to her: “But this is the pound shop, is it not?”
“That’s very misleading, I’ll only pay for that if it’s a pound.”
Chelsea title winner, 39, to take charge of Blues’ opponents in Club World Cup clash
CHELSEA are set to take on a familiar face in the Club World Cup group stage.
Enzo Maresca‘s side begin their tournament against Los Angeles FC on Monday night.

The Blues are joined in Group D by Tunisian side Tunis EC and Brazil’s Flamengo
Felipe Luis, a former Premier League title winner with Chelsea, is Flamengo’s head coach.
The former full-back spent a year on the books at Stamford Bridge between 2014-15.
He made the most of his one season in West London, winning the Prem and the Carabao Cup.
Luis also played for Atletico Madrid, Deportivo and Figuerense in his two-decade career.
He ended his playing days at Flamengo, appearing over 100 times for the Rio-based club.
Luis took over the club’s youth team in January 2024 and was handed interim charge of the first XI last September.
Luis has impressed since taking over the reins, earning a new contract until the end of 2025.

He has won 31 of his 46 games in charge, with Flamengo currently leading the way in Brazil’s Serie A.
And he will hope to get one over his former club when Flamengo face Chelsea on June 20 in Philadelphia.
The tournament is likely to see fringe players given a chance to shine on the big stage.
But Chelsea keeper Djordje Petrovic has already opted out as he prepares a summer move away from the Bridge.
Petrovic, 25, enjoyed a successful loan stint at Strasbourg this past season and recently returned to the Blues’ squad.

Following his impressive performances in Ligue 1, the stopper wants to be a guaranteed starter.
That is something the West Londoners cannot currently offer him.
According to The Telegraph, the Serbia international asked to be omitted from Maresca’s squad for the Club World Cup.
Strasbourg and West Ham have been linked with a swoop for the Serbian.

Your product recall rights
Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know.
Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods.
As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action.
But it’s often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.
If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice has been issued.
When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don’t there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault.
If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer.
They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice.
In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected.
You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item
The company also offers telephone support.
Meanwhile, A home decoration product sold by Wayfair which is described as being “warm and soothing” has been urgently recalled due to a “high risk of electric shock”.
And LIDL has issued an urgent recall over fears a popular breakfast item contains pieces of metal.
Plus, an urgent warning was issued yesterday to UK shops selling a popular sweet product.
The Food Standards Agency warned businesses to stop sales of the sweets immediately.
