In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Wilson’s family wrote: “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away.
“We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving.
“We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.”
Celebrated as a spectacular songwriter, Wilson was responsible for initial successes including Surfin’ USA, Surfer Girl, and I Get Around.

Born in Inglewood, California, Wilson formed the band – first called the Pendletones – as a teenager with his brothers Dennis and Carl.
Their first song, Surfin’, was released by Candix Records.
The record label changed the band’s name without their permission.
A year later, they signed with Capitol to release their debut album, Surfin’ Safari.

MUSIC legend Bruce Springsteen looked “furious” as he refused to sign autographs for fans waiting in the rain in Manchester.
The Dancing In the Dark hitmaker, 75, arrived back at his hotel with his security who shielded him from the rain with an umbrella.
InstagramBruce Springsteen appeared to snub fans waiting for him outside his hotel[/caption]
InstagramThe rocker was filmed saying he would would be ‘signing nothing’[/caption]
As he walked towards the entrance, fans were seen begging the star for an autograph, with one saying: “Bruce, just one please.”
But Bruce refused to play ball and told them: “You guys chased me all around town… I’m signing nothing.”
He then proceeded to head into the building, as one fan replied: “We didn’t, we’ve been waiting here for you.”
Despite the clip going making its way onto social media, some fans are convinced that this is not the whole story.
One person took to the comment section and wrote: “I feel like it takes a lot to aggravate Bruce. Hope they got the hint.”
A second posted: “Well said Bruce. I’ve never been fortunate enough to meet him but he comes across as such a kindhearted man who loves his fans and so generous.”
Another added: “I am sure they are not fans, because fans would not do this, because they understand . Fans just waited in front of his hotel, not following Bruce anywhere. Moreover, it is raining in this video, so Bruce has a reason to refuse.”
While this person claimed: “These are almost certainly professional autograph hunters who immediately resell.”
The Sun has reached out to Bruce’s rep for comment.
Bruce and The E Street Band were in Manchester as part of their 2025 Land of Hope and Dreams tour.
They played three-night residency at Co-op Live in Manchester, with dates on May 14, 17, and 20.
They then visited Liverpool at Anfield on June 4 and 7, marking the only other UK dates on the tour.
Packages on Ticketmaster, part of Live Nation, included £796 for two front standing tickets and a double room at the four-star Novotel in Liverpool ahead of next June’s gig at Anfield.
Two rear standing tickets in last Thursday’s pre-sale were £754 with a room at the Hilton.
Two plus a night at the Ibis were £732. A pair and a room at the three-star Holiday Inn cost £698.
Ticketmaster was criticised over its “dynamic pricing” for Oasis shows when £135 tickets suddenly shot up to £355.
But a fan of The Boss tweeted: “This tie-in with hotel packages is taking it to another level.”

AN URGENT warning has been issued to UK shops selling a popular sweet product.
The Food Standards Agency sent the alert out today warning businesses to stop sales of the sweets immediately.

The popular sweets are not compliant with UK laws, containing ingredients that may be harmful if consumed.
Businesses selling the products have been urged to stop sales and take them off shelves immediately.
Businesses were also told, where there have been retail sales, to undertake urgent product recalls.
The Food Standards Agency said the products contain Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons, (MOAH), and Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons, (MOSH).
The MOAHs and MOSHs make the popular American candy unsafe to eat and are not compliant with UK laws.
Jolly Rancher hard candies, ‘Misfits’ Gummies, Jolly Rancher Hard Candy Fruity 2 in 1 and Jolly Ranchers Berry Gummies have all been recalled.
The Food Standards Agency said: “Consumption of the affected sweets is of toxicological concern, especially in younger age groups and where consumers eat a lot of the products or eat them regularly.
“MOAH can cause damage to DNA and has the potential to increase the risk of cancer, particularly if consumed in high quantities over a prolonged period of time.
“MOAH is a genotoxic carcinogen, therefore no exposure is without risk to human health.”
Consumers have been instructed not to eat the product if they have bought them.
The Food Standards Agency has asked that consumers dispose of the products and notify their Trading Standards or Environmental Health department.

Your product recall rights
Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know.
Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods.
As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action.
But it’s often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.
If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice has been issued.
When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don’t there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault.
If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer.
They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice.
In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected.
You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item

The World’s No2 passionately celebrated with the esteemed honour in front of the French crowd after winning her 10th career title, but that wasn’t the trophy she was going home with.
The tennis star posted a video of herself in her private jet revealing her actual trophy… and how much smaller it really is.
Gauff said on TikTok while gesturing to a picture of her posing with the larger replica: “This is the trophy that you guys see, the one that we take pictures with, do press with and all that.
“But, actually, we don’t get to take this home. This stays with the tournament.”
Gauff then showed the much smaller trophy and added: “This is the one we take home. It’s like a mini replica of the trophy,. It’s… Really small.”
The Florida native then left fans aghast when she placed the trophy next to a tiny Perrier bottle, which was just a bit smaller than the esteemed title.
Gauff continued: “That’s how small it is. But, you know, it’s the memories that matter the most.”
That left Murray, 38, shocked as he took to social media to address the situation.

ONE of Love Island’s most controversial stars has revealed she is getting married – nine years on from being kicked out of the villa for her violent antics.
Malia Arkian, was booted from the villa in Majorca after just a few hours during the show’s second series in 2016.

The star was booted out of the villa after a fiery rowITV2She came to blows with Kady McDermott[/caption]
She has become one of a very limited number of stars axed by producers for their conduct with the wannabe Islander’s vicious scrap with Kady McDermott the leading cause.
Viewers of Love Island will remember how Malia sparked a violent clash with Kady after she accused her co-star of deliberately spilling a drink on her.
In fact, Kady had accidentally spilled some of her drink which went on to splash on Malia’s leg.
However, seconds later, Malia squared up to Kady and began a fight.
Nine years on from her failed TV fame, she appears to have found love without the dating programme.
She revealed on Instagram that she had celebrated her hen do with her bridesmaids ahead of her impending wedding.
Malia posted a snap alongside her bridesmaids with the caption: “The best day #bridesmaidsquad.”
She wore a white mini-dress for the occasion with her pals all donning party headbands emblazoned with the word “bridesmaid”.
A balloon and floral decoration also appeared to give away that Malia will be tying the knot next June.
The love birds welcomed their daughter Halo into the world in October 2019.
They also went on to welcome twins, Heaven and Harmony, in 2024.
Love Island's big bust-up
Malia was removed from the villa after just a few hours in 2016 thanks to her fiery altercation with Kady McDermott.
The Manchester native had been on a date with Scott Thomas – who had been getting close with Kady in the days prior.
It left Kady feeling on edge as Scott failed to reassure her following his date with Malia.
Kady and Scott began to row but things later settled down as Malia went to chat to the girls.
Kady then made the effort to sit next to Malia to make her feel welcome and included but things soon went awry.
As Kady then accidently dropped her drink, causing it to splash on Malia’s leg, Malia stood up enraged and asked: “Did you do that on purpose?”
Malia then began screaming to a bewildered group of Islanders as she insisted “you don’t do that with me!”
As Kady began to defend herself and argue back, Malia soon got handsy as she turned the altercation physical before being thrown out.

5 days agoNew York StateComments Off on Barron Trump’s ‘best friend’ claims he helped get world’s most followed TikToker Khaby Lame deported from US
BARRON Trump’s bestie has been gloating about getting TikTok star Khaby Lame kicked out of America.
Immigration agents detained the popular influencer for allegedly overstaying his visa.
APTikToker Khaby Lame quit the United States after US immigration agents detained him[/caption]
Barron Trump, left, with his dad, Donald Trump, and “best friend” MAGA influencer Bo Loudon
Bo Loudon, who is regularly at the White House covering his hero Donald Trump, boasted on X that he had “personally taken action” to have Lame removed.
Lame, a Senegalese-Italian influencer whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was detained last Friday at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
He is regarded as one of the world’s most popular TikTok personalities, as he has more than 162 million followers.
It’s alleged that Lame arrived in the U.S. on April 30, and overstayed the terms of his visa, said a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
However, he was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, the ICE spokesperson confirmed.
News of his sudden departure was welcomed by the “bragging” MAGA influencer who claims to be “Barron Trump’s best friend,” reported The Daily Beast.
Loudon, 18, claimed last Friday – before news of Lame’s detention had snowballed – “I’ve been working with the patriots at President Trump’s DHS to make this happen.”
He said on X four days ago, “Breaking: far-left illegal alien TikToker Khaby Lame was just arrested and is now in ICE custody under President Trump.
“I discovered he was an illegal who overstayed an invalid visa, evaded taxes, and I personally took action to have him deported.
“No one is above the law!”
Loudon also alleged in an X post on Monday that he had heard from a “few of his friends” and “business partners” that Lame had overstayed his visa.
He bragged, “I just called some buddies in the administration, and I’ve never seen anything happen so quick.
“They were like, ‘We’re gonna get right on this.’”

APKhaby Lame entered the United States on April 30 and “overstayed the terms of his visa” claimed ICE officials[/caption]
He further alleged yesterday on X, “Every single illegal alien needs to be deported.
“When I found out the biggest TikTok star, Khaby Lame, is an illegal alien evading taxes, I worked with Trump’s ICE to have him removed.
“He’s since been detained by ICE and removed.
“The Trump team works at lighting speed [sic].”
Loudon wished Lame “the best of luck” and said he hoped “he’s able to come back as a law-abiding citizen.”
His inflammatory comments prompted one of Lame’s fans to accuse him of being “a snitch.”
Another slammed him on social media as, “Rat extraordinaire, Barron Trump’s ‘bestie’ who informs ICE about all those nasty illegals.”
Who is Khaby Lame and why did ICE detain him?
The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the Covid pandemic without ever saying a word in his viral videos.
His clips showed him reacting to absurdly complicated life hacks.
The influencer’s legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame.
The Senegal-born influencer moved to Italy when he was an infant with his working class parents and has Italian citizenship.
He signed a multi-year partnership with designer brand Hugo Boss in 2022.
In January, Lame was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Last month, he attended the Met Gala in New York City, days after arriving in the U.S.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained Lame, a citizen of Italy, on June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for “immigration violations,” the agency alleged.
Lame entered the United States on April 30 and “overstayed the terms of his visa,” its statement said of his detention, adding that he was released the same day.
He “has since departed the US,” ICE added.
WIFE SWAP STAR
Loudon’s dad is ex-Republican Missouri state Sen. John Loudon.
His mom is conservative media personality Gina Loudon, who appeared on Wife Swap, and is a member of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago private club.
Lame, who is a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, has not as yet broken his silence about his detainment.
The U.S. Sun has contacted Lame and UNICEF for comment.
His brief detainment and voluntary departure from the U.S. comes amid the president’s escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE.

GettyFull shopping cart in supermarket aisle[/caption]
OFFICIALS are investigating a mysterious surge in hepatitis A cases believed to be linked to a supermarket item.
A total of 95 people have been left ill from the outbreak with a further 58 falling so ill they needed to be hospitalised.
GettyThe virus affects the liver (stock photo)[/caption]
GettyTwo clusters have been identified with recent cases being reported in March (stock photo)[/caption]
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has confirmed two separate clusters of the virus have been identified.
Officials have received reports of 54 cases since December 2024 and are now investigating the cause of the outbreak.
Patient interviews have indicated that the outbreak comes from a specific food item purchased from an unnamed supermarket.
A UKHSA report reads: “A particular food item purchased from a particular supermarket has emerged as a possible vehicle of transmission due to its frequent reported consumption.”
The product has not been named despite officials identifying it as a “possible vehicle of transmission.”
The first identified cluster saw 19 people hospitalised with the infection that affects the liver.
Most of the patients in the first cluster to be identified were between the ages of 50 and 69.
The second cluster saw a further 39 people requiring hospitalisation after catching the virus.
Cases related to the first cluster were identified between January 2021 and March 2025.
The latest wave of infections began in January 2023 with cases still being reported in March this year.
No deaths linked to the outbreak have been reported as of yet.
Hepatitis A begins with mild symptoms but can quickly develop into a more serious illness.
It causes weakness and fatigue, a loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, fever jaundice and abdominal pain.
If left untreated the infection can lead to liver failure and can even be fatal.
GettyThe outbreaks have been linked to a food item[/caption]
Unlike hepatitis B and C, hepatitis A isn’t known to cause chronic liver disease.
Symptoms tend to develop within two months of infection but can go undetected for longer.
The NHS warns that children and some adults may have no symptoms.
In less extreme cases the virus usually clears up on its own within six months but doctors can prescribe medication to alleviate symptoms.
The UKHSA is continuing to investigate the recent outbreaks with an unnamed food item from an unnamed supermarket identified as a possible cause.
UKHSA officials have not stated the name of supermarket, or the food item.
The UKHSA report reads: “Given the reported lack of international travel in most cases, and implicated food items, further investigations into the possible sources of these clusters are in progress to inform control measures.”
The UKHSA has been contacted for comment.
The symptoms of hepatitis A you need to be aware of
Symptoms of Hepatitis A can include jaundice, a yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes, dark-coloured urine and itchy skin.
This is because when your liver isn’t working properly, it stops being able to get rid of bilirubin, a substance that causes jaundice.
There may be earlier flu-like symptoms including mild fever, joint and muscle pain, feeling and being sick, diarrhoea and stomach pain.
Losing your appetite, feeling or being sick and pain in the upper right part of your tummy could also be a sign of the condition.
Not everyone infected will have all these symptoms.
Anyone with suspected hepatitis A infection should contact their GP and remain at home, until their GP advises their return to school or the workplace.
It is an unpleasant illness but is not usually serious and most people make a full recovery in two months.
However, it can last several months and also be deadly if it causes liver failure — when the organ stops working properly.
More information on hepatitis A can be found on the NHS website.
