Meanwhile, Chelsea‘s proposed move for goalkeeper Mike Maignan is OFF, and they’ll have to wait until the window reopens after their new bid for Jamie Gittens got rejected.

Jobe Bellingham ‘already plotting move to Real Madrid to join brother Jude’ after completing £31m Dortmund transfer

JOB BELLINGHAM is already plotting a move to Real Madrid following his Borussia Dortmund transfer, according to reports.

The midfielder has completed a £27million switch to Borussia Dortmund.

That makes him the fourth most expensive player in the club’s history – just ahead of older brother Jude.

In his announcement video Bellingham played down the idea he is following in his brother’s footsteps.

But Spanish outlet Marca report the 19-year-old is already eyeing a switch to Real Madrid, just as Jude did two years ago.

They claim Jude’s knowledge of the club and success at Dortmund where key factors in Bellingham’s decision to sign.

Bellingham’s debut for Dortmund will likely come in the Club World Cup.

The teenager will wear number 77 for his new club, sporting his first name ‘Jobe’ on the rear of his shirt to avoid the weight of his surname.

He has penned a five-year deal and his fee could rise to £32m if add-ons are met.

Bellingham penned an emotional goodbye to the Sunderland fans in an open letter on his Instagram.

Jobe Bellingham's 2024-25 Sunderland stats: games, chances created, passes, goals, assists, tackles, and fouls.

It read: “Dear Sunderland, it’s time for me to say farewell to all the loyal people of Sunderland, who have powered me through two incredible years in Red and White.

“Your support, on so many occasions, has completely blown me away, especially in the times of adversity which we pulled through together.

You welcomed me with open arms as a kid leaving home for the first time, and I am proud that our relationship has grown to be so strong ever since.

“Your support for the team and I since I arrived at your beloved club was unwavering, and for that I am forever indebted to you as people and supporters.

“I will always represent Wearside in all that I strive to achieve for the rest of my career, wherever that may be.

“I hope that I have made you proud along the way, and in return you have made me the player that has reached the heights I find myself at today. So thank you.

“I will love and remember you fondly for the rest of my life, from the bottom of my heart.

“I tried to embody the passion you have for the city on the football pitch and I’m so incredibly delighted that our journey came to an end with a victory at Wembley to restore the club in its rightful place.

“To the staff, players & most importantly the supporters thank you so much & good luck for the future.

“Jobe, Adopted Mackem.”

Ed Sheeran reveals secret boozy night out with major sports star as he lifts lid on his huge celeb pals

AS one of the nicest blokes in the music business, it’s no wonder Ed Sheeran’s little black book is crammed full of huge celebrities.

And in a new chat on The Louis Theroux podcast, he talks about famous friends including Van Morrison, who once woke him up at 6am after a boozy night out with Rory McIlroy, demanding to see him.

“I was doing a gig in Belfast and my grandmother had come down to the gig and she loves golf,” Ed said.

Rory had come down and she loved being around him. We stayed up super late talking to him, and I’d say we went to bed at like 4am.

“About 6am, I got a call on my hotel phone from the hotel — ‘Mr Morrison’s in the lobby, he wants to have breakfast with you’.

“I was half asleep and half drunk. So I just hung up and I was like, ‘I have no idea who Mr Morrison is.’

“Then I got another call and they said, ‘Sorry, Van Morrison is in’.

“I ran downstairs and there he was waiting for me and we had breakfast, which is really surreal.

“I’m a huge fan. We spoke for ages about everything we did. One of the subjects was actually Spotify.

“I had embraced Spotify quite early in my career and I think he was asking me to explain Spotify to him.”

Ed also talked about hanging out with Eminem after he worked on the rapper’s 2018 song River.

“He loves comic books, Marvel movies and video games,” Ed explained.

“I sent him a Nintendo 64 with Goldeneye on it because he’d never played it.”

About his new album Play, which is out on September 12, Ed said it feels like a double-edged sword.

He explained: “The two joys of my life professionally are writing songs and performing. I f***ing hate releasing music.

“You love the songs so much and then suddenly you’re putting them out there and that might change your relationship with them if other people don’t like them.

“I’m trying my hardest not to let that happen.

“I find releasing it just kind of sucks the joy out of it.”

PITBULL is back at London’s O2 Arena for another two sold out nights after a successful show earlier this year.

Delivering possibly the most fun gig i’ve ever been to, his Party After Dark Tour is a nostalgic trip down memory lane with feel good banger after banger after banger.

Everyone there simply wants to have a good time – with the tube to the venue packed with fans in costumes all singing at the top of their lungs.

Chancing my luck, I opted to dress as Mr Worldwide himself… and safe to say it went down a treat backstage.

After a flurry of possibly the hottest female dancers I’ve ever seen, Pitbull appeared out of his dressing room – catching my outfit and grinning from ear to ear.

“Man I love it” he laughed before giving me a big hug.

I quickly launched into a short tale of how I’d ran to Soho that afternoon to buy my baldcap – bumping into three other music lovers doing exactly the same thing.

Smiling Pitbull said: “Well next time you see them you make sure you tell them from me thank you. I love all my Bald E’s.

“We are going to have a great show tonight. I can feel it.

“For the first time tonight my band are going to dress as Bald E’s too.”

He added on stage: “I tell you why I call you guys [fans] the bald E’s. Because we fly high, and we soar high like bald eagles. So therefore we are the bald E’s

“And everywhere we go, and anytime you’re there, you put on that bald cap and you already know you are going to have the time of your life.

In fact new date from QR Code Generator have revealed searches for “bald cap” have it an all time high in the UK amid Pitbull’s tour.

It’s hard to quite put into words the energy in the O2 – 90% of the sold out 20,000 venue has come dressed as the star.

Sure concerts like Taylor Swift have an amazing atmosphere and everyone dresses up but vibe at Pitbull is… different.

No one cares about looking sexy or Instagram-ready as they are wearing a rubber bald cap and shirt.

They are simply there to have a good time – and boy does he pull it off.

You don’t need therapy. You just need two hours at a Pitbull gig.

GOLDEN girl Mariah Carey turned back the clock and looked remarkably youthful as she performed at the BET Awards in Los Angeles.

Wearing a glittering mini-dress, she sang her new single, Type Dangerous, before collecting the Ultimate Icon Award.

Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart were also at the event celebrating black entertainers, as was breakout rapper Doechii, who used her Best Female Hip-Hop Artist speech to take aim at Donald Trump for his crackdown on people protesting against immigration raids.

The star, who will perform at Glastonbury later this month, said: “Trump is using military forces to stop a protest.

“I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?”

PULP HEAD TO GLASTO

GLASTONBURY got fans into a frenzy when organisers announced the full festival line-up, including a mysterious band called Patchwork.

Now I can reveal who the band destined for the Saturday Pyramid Stage actually are – as I have been told punters can expect a set from Pulp.

Jarvis Cocker and co headlined the festival 30 years ago and last did a surprise set there in 2011. But they are about to return following their comeback with new music.

The band are set to top the charts this Friday for the first time in 27 years thanks to their album More, so this will be the perfect way to celebrate.

There are also plenty of whispers about surprise Glasto performances from Lewis Capaldi and Haim, so there’s lots to look forward to in three weeks’ time.

But organiser Emily Eavis kept schtum about who Patchwork are when asked about them during the Sidetracked by Glastonbury podcast on BBC Sounds.

Speaking to hosts Annie MacManus and Nick Grimshaw, she said: “I’ve been working on Patchwork for a long time. I tell you what, pretty much since I saw you this time last year I’ve been working on Patchwork.”

Asked if that meant they took “a lot of persuading”, she added: “Well, it’s more logistical.”

Foo Fighters did a set under the name The Churnups in 2023, and this sounds just as exciting.

MILEY CYRUS has revealed she was the one to end the family feud following her parents’ divorce.

On the Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast yesterday, she explained: “My family and I have had a really difficult, dark decade.

“Half of us weren’t speaking to each other at one point. And we cleaned all that up. That was a really important part of my year.” She added: “I watched what happens when you don’t clean things up as they’re happening.”

Asked if they’d had therapy, Miley said: “We’re so messy. We didn’t even do any of that. To get each other in a room to even get to counselling would have been a war. So it was easier to just go, ‘white flag’.”

Miley, above, has written a song, Secrets, for her next album, about reconnecting with dad Billy Ray.

FANS of Ronnie Wood can get their hands on his new art as he celebrates 50 years as a member of the Rolling Stones.

The rock great, who is as handy with a paintbrush as he is with a guitar pick, had his work on display at the band’s official store in London’s Carnaby Street last week, before putting the items up for sale on his website.

The musician’s new exhibits include 50 – The Portraits which are hand-finished canvases of Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the band’s late, great drummer Charlie Watts.

Superfans can also buy an exclusive bundle that includes four portraits and a setlist from Ronnie’s first show with the Stones in 1975, along with a limited-edition 7in vinyl single which contains a new recording by Ronnie.

MUSE, the best live band I’ve ever seen in my life, have stepped in at the last minute to replace Kings of Leon as top of the bill for Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival.

The American rockers were forced to pull out after singer Caleb Followill injured his foot.

But British act Muse will headline the opening night on July 10 instead.

MICK HUCKNALL will be awarded ASCAP’s Golden Note Award as he celebrates Simply Red’s 40th anniversary.

He will be handed the honour – recognising extraordinary career milestones – at an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ceremony in London on June 17.

Previous winners include George Michael, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Sir Elton John.

London singer and songwriter Lola Young will pick up the ASCAP Vanguard Award.

Mick, you’re my hero.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street facing major changes to cut costs, ex-soap boss warns

EMMERDALE could soon be filmed outside Yorkshire for the first time as part of a production merger with Coronation Street, according the one the ITV1 soap’s former bosses.

Peter Fincham, the channel’s Director of Television before current boss Kevin Lygo, has revealed he believes that the soap could soon be moving to Manchester.

The soap could move as part of a production merger with Coronation Street[/caption]

He’s predicted that the recent devastating cuts to daytime television, and the loss of hundreds of jobs, would lead to executives looking at similar measures with their two biggest soaps, which are made in locations just 50 miles apart.

Talking on The TV Podcast, Peter said: “You’ve got Coronation Street being made in Manchester, Emmerdale in Leeds.
‘Big savings’

“Could you imagine, rather like the daytime consolidation, that ITV will decide to have them both made in the same place under one umbrella? Big savings.

“You still keep Emmerdale set in Yorkshire, but it could be made in Manchester and Salford, which is a bigger hub for ITV. I don’t think that’s inconceivable — it might be being planned as we speak.”

Merging the two shows in any way once seemed unthinkable, but recently ITV announced that it would air an episode next year where the soaps would have a joint storyline.

The news came around the same time ITV announced a merger of production between Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, with the expected loss of more than 200 jobs behind the scenes.

Currently, Emmerdale is made just north of Leeds while Coronation Street is largely filmed at MediaCity in Salford, having previously been at the Granada Studios in Manchester for decades.

Peter continued: “The new hub for Coronation Street in Salford, it cost many, many millions of pounds and it was better facilities for all the people who worked on it in the old place in the middle of Manchester.”

A spokesperson for ITV hit back at Peter’s suggestion of a soap filming merge: “ITV has no plans to merge the productions of Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

“Both are uniquely set in Manchester and Leeds, and that production model will continue for the long term. It’s pure speculation to say otherwise.”

While the last series saw Ella and Dan become “official” ahead of her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, it was revealed in April the two had split “amicably”.

But that will be put to the test as the cast were seen gathering poolside in the Algarve.

Joining Ella were Roman Hackett and Sammy Root who enjoyed a ball game, as Chloe Meadows sipped on a drink.

SHERI’S DRAMA A SAFE BET

MICHAEL SOCHA and Sheridan Smith play two casino workers on the run from a local gangster, and the police, in upcoming drama The Cage.

A first look at the new series, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer, sees the duo as the show’s Matty and Leanne, dressed for their job at a gambling mecca in Liverpool.

After discovering that they have both been robbing from the business, the pair are on a terrifying collision course.

For the five-parter, the actors will be joined by House Of The Dragon’s Barry Sloane, Dope Girls’ Geraldine James, Extraordinary’s Shaun Mason and The Power Of Parker star Louis Emerick in the high-stakes, high-energy series.

DEATH Valley is set to return for a second series.

The BBC murder mystery comedy drama, which stars Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth as unlikely crime-solving partners, is set to begin filming again this autumn in Wales.

The first series is currently airing on BBC One on Sunday evenings.

RICHARD: MY PAST SO RACY

BEING a man of the cloth doesn’t mean that Reverend Richard Coles has forgotten all about his rock ’n’ roll past in the Eighties.

If anything, the I’m A Celebrity star is still haunted by the bad decisions from his youth as a member of band The Communards.

Richard told Rylan on his How To Be In Love podcast: “After the band reached its highest point, and we were taking a break, that was when sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll came together for me, and I went to Ibiza.

“There was one summer I went with a bunch of people, and we l took ecstasy, and acid, everything really, and got barred from Avis car rental for life because we got through a lot of vehicles.

“Then I bought a speed boat, and I don’t know where it is, but I did buy a speed boat.”

RACE TO FINALE HOTS UP

THE contestants have now been whittled down to four pairs for the the tense finale of Race Across The World tonight.

Now Melvyn and Brian, Caroline and Tom, Elizabeth and Letitia and Fin and Sioned will battle it out to win the BBC One contest.

But just because things are hotting up, and requiring more physical energy than ever, it doesn’t mean the show’s oldest ever contestants, brothers Melvyn and Brian, are going to struggle.

Melvyn joked: “I’m 66 but that doesn’t mean I can’t do a parachute jump or a bungee jump!

“The wife wouldn’t be happy, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do it – don’t think you’re too old to do stuff. I’m proud of what we have done.”

Brian added: “We knew going into the race it would be tough and we would probably be out of our comfort zone.

“But, it’s no surprise to me, I always knew that we could do it.”

Get Baked’s “Bertha” slice sells for £20 on its website[/caption]

And the dessert comes in £4 cheaper than the Leeds-based company’s £20 original slice.

The Bertha cake, formerly known as Bruce and now with a tweaked recipe, has taken social media by storm since its launch.

Instagram and TikTok videos of people trying the cake have notched up millions of likes.

Now, Tesco shoppers can’t get enough of the supermarket’s own version, which launched this week.

Instagram account newfoodspotteruk posted about the new £16 cake, with shoppers quick to comment.

Some can’t wait to give the supermarket’s dupe a try, with one posting: “Running to Tesco for these.”

Another added: “This is actually the most exciting new food post I’ve ever seen oh my god.”

A third chipped in: “Get in I can’t wait to get it.”

But not everyone is convinced by the new arrival, with one posting: “Get Baked UK does it better. Bertha supremacy.”

Meanwhile, another posted: “Pass, I’ll stick to the original Bertha thanks.”

Tesco said the Bertha chocolate cake dupe comes with 10 servings each containing 375 calories.

It is available across 480 stores in the UK while shoppers can order it online too. The cake is a permanent addition.

The cake is made up of 24 layers and made by Studio Bakery.

OTHER TESCO NEWS

Tesco recently sparked shopper fury after axing a dinner staple from shelves.

The supermarket has discontinued eight packs of own-brand beef sausages.

Customers were left equally miffed after finding out Southern Fried chicken flavour noodles were axed.

Confused eaters took to social media to find out where the popular snack had gone.

Writing in a Reddit thread one shopper said: “These are my go to quick food and my local Tesco has none on the shelf and they’ve disappeared off of the website too.

“I’ll be gutted if they’ve discontinued them.”

Another fan replied: “Probably, if you liked them, these stores always stop what people like.”

Meanwhile, Tesco customers have been taking to social media to reveal how they’re getting free items by checking receipts.

How to save money at Tesco

EVERY little helps when it comes to saving money at Tesco.

The Sun’s Head of Consumer Tara Evans explains how you can save money at the UK’s biggest supermarket.

Clubcard points

Tesco first launched it’s loyalty scheme back in 1995. You get one point for every £1 you spend in store. If you spend points in store then 100 points is worth £1. You can spend your points via its reward partners and get triple and even sometimes quadruple the value.

Extend Clubcard points

You can find lost Clubvcard points and find the last two years of unused vouchers by logging into the Tesco Clubcard site.

Clubcard prices

If you don’t have a Clubcard then you will miss out on its cheaper Clubcard prices. However, don’t forget to check prices before you shop because it might not be cheaper than elsewhere, especially on big value items like washing powder and loo roll.

Yellow stickers

Shops do vary the time they reduce groceries with yellow stickers but Tesco tends to be between 7pm and 9pm.

Save money if you shop online

If you get your Tesco food shop delivered then it might be worth buying a delivery saver pass to help cut the cost of delivery fees.

If you live near a Tesco then you can get click and collect slots of as little as 25p, so it might be cheaper than getting your food delivered.

China’s London mega-embassy could be scrapped amid claims ministers rigged decision in secret deal

CHINA’s bid to build a mega-embassy in the heart of London could be scrapped amid bombshell claims ministers rigged the decision behind closed doors.

A senior Tory says ministers privately gave Beijing the nod before the official process began –  raising fears the final call is now “unlawful” and could be thrown out in court.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves visited China back in January[/caption]

Shadow Housing Secretary Kevin Hollinrake has written to the Cabinet Secretary demanding the controversial application be halted and restarted from scratch.

His explosive letter, seen by The Sun, points to a string of evasive answers to parliamentary questions, a “call-in” of the decision from local council control, and Chinese media crowing that the UK quietly “greenlit” the plan just 48 hours after a Government trade mission to Beijing.

He warned ministers may have “fettered” the legal independence of Deputy PM Angela Rayner – who must decide the case fairly in a quasi-judicial role –  by sending political signals before any evidence was reviewed.

Mr Hollinrake wrote: “There is a clear case that the Government codes and guidance have been breached, and Government Ministers have acted unlawfully.

“In turn, that opens the Government up to a judicial review.

“This will be expensive and reputationally damaging to the UK Government.

“I would therefore ask that the planning process is halted and started afresh from scratch.”

China wants to turn the five-acre Royal Mint Court site near the Tower of Londonnext to sensitive data cables and Whitehall offices – into its biggest embassy in Europe.

The plans have been bogged down in a national security row for years, with Tower Hamlets Council rejecting them in 2022.

But Chinese officials revived their bid only weeks after Labour took power

A former Foreign Office official told The Sun Chinese diplomats made it clear before the election they wouldn’t come back unless the UK gave them quiet guarantees it would be approved.

The letter written by Shadow Housing Secretary Kevin Hollinrake

The ex-official said: “They wouldn’t have come back unless the UK signalled it would be waved through.”

Chinese state-linked media reports from Baidu also show how Beijing interpreted a visit by Chancellor Rachel Reeves as a breakthrough in the row back in January.

One article reads: “After six years of diplomatic deadlock, within merely 48 hours a monumental change has taken place: the English/British government has clearly expressed support for China to build a new embassy in London.”

The reports came as Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper also sent letters to the Planning Inspectorate backing the plan.

Top barrister Richard Harwood KC told The Sun the process could now be challenged in court if ministers gave the impression it was a done deal.

He said: “If the judge thinks that the government have given impression that they just want to approve it for political, in terms of international political reasons, rather than the planning merits and we were signalling that to the Chinese government in advance, then there’s clearly a strong chance that the court would find that is unlawful.”

On the Government’s move to take over the decision from Tower Hamlets, he added: “It’s relatively unusual to get an application called in before the council decided what it was going to do about it.”

The Shadow Housing Secretary also revealed how the Cabinet Office has refused to release records of key meetings, calls and emails between Chinese diplomats, ministers, No10 and the Foreign Office – despite admitting they exist.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick, who has campaigned against China’s bid for the embassy, blasted: “This whole process is a fiasco.

“Starmer, Lammy and Cooper are more interested in bending backwards for a hostile state than defending the security of British people.”

And Luke de Pulford, head of cross-party group IPAC, added: “If assurances over the mega-embassy have been given to Beijing, the whole process should be aborted and a public inquiry announced.

“Beijing said themselves they would not apply again unless given the green light by government, and those of us opposing the plan have often felt like planning law was just window dressing for a done deal.

“Time to drag this murky embassy business into the light.”

The row comes as the US and Dutch governments have both raised alarm over the embassy’s location at Royal Mint Court, near critical data infrastructure in the capital.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government said: “Planning casework decisions are at a matter for MHCLG.

“Ministers hold a quasi-judicial role in the planning process and adhere to the published propriety guidance when taking decisions.”

Furious Indiyah Pollack slams Love Island boy Blu after his comment to Alima leaves fans calling Ofcom

Eroteme

During last night’s opening episode, Blu, the son of a sex shop owner, failed to compliment his new match, Alima.

When asked by show host Maya Jama his thoughts on Alima, he responded by saying that “all the girls” were beautiful as he failed to directly address the stunner he was paired with.

It later caused issue between the two as they attempted to get to know one another during a chat in the villa.

Now, Love Island icon Indiyah has sided with Alima and shared her own thoughts on the encounter.

The unimpressed presenter said: “We did see at the start when Maya asked Blu what do you think of Alima and he said I think they’re all beautiful.

“Well excuse me – what the actual heck?

“I would feel the same like read the room. It was really nice to see Alima stand her ground.

“He did take it quite nicely – he saw the light and was like, ‘oh, I shouldn’t have said that’.”

Indiayah added: ” I think Alima made it very clear on how she likes to be loved.

“I think she found it [what Blu said] a turn off and I would find that a turn off too.”

Blu’s comments enraged unhappy viewers watching along at home with many asking for him to be asked.

“Blu is actually very rude, need him out my villa asap #LoveIsland,” demanded one viewer.

Daniel Levy urged to make shock Ange Postecoglou U-turn and RE-HIRE Spurs boss in passionate plea from Melbourne mayor

MELBOURNE’S Lord Mayor has urged Tottenham to U-turn on sacking Ange Postecoglou – or risk an ALLERGIC reaction.

Greek-born Postecoglou grew up in the Australian city, later bossing South Melbourne, Melbourne Victory and the Socceroos.

Postecoglou’s departure has sparked a chain reaction thousands of miles away from Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Nick Reece

But despite winning the Europa League – to earn a Champions League spot – Postecoglou was axed by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy last Friday.

And as well as being a hefty blow to his reputation, it has also been a painful hit Down Under.

Postecoglou paid for finishing just one place above the Premier League drop zone.

However, an injury crisis persuaded him to focus more on Tottenham‘s European campaign than he might normally have done.

And in the eyes of some fans, that policy was vindicated when Spurs sunk Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final last month.

Victory in Bilbao ended Tottenham’s long wait for silverware since winning the League Cup in 2008.

But club supremo Levy has been unhappy with the larger picture.

And after axing Postecoglou less than a week ago, Spurs are already close to naming Brentford chief Thomas Frank as his successor.

However, the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Nick Reece, has made an unusual intervention – by pleading on Instagram for Levy to have a rethink.

And Reece reckons he speaks for not just his city but also for lovers of the English top flight all around the globe.

The civic bigwig even backed up his message with an amusing medicinal warning… over a possible “allergic reaction”.

He said: “On behalf of the people of Melbourne, and Premier League fans around the world, I call on Tottenham Hotspur FC to reconsider its decision to sack coach Ange Postecoglou.

“In @cityofmelbourne we have followed Ange’s career closely for decades.

“He began his junior and senior career in Melbourne as a player and later coach at @southmelbournefc in the 1980s.

“Never underestimate Ange’s determination to win, and his ability to carry teams to greatness. We have seen this time again over his career.

“This year Tottenham made history by winning the Europa League trophy – its first such win in 17 years. We will see further trophies follow if Ange is given the chance.

“Don’t let Tottenham be known as the team that is allergic to silverware.

“Let Ange lead the players onto greatness in next year’s Premier League campaign.”

But even having Melbourne’s mighty mayoral chains thrown in behind him is unlikely to save Ange.

Instead he is understood to have already been eyed up by rival clubs, although he is in no rush for a new job.
