Man Utd AGREE new deal with Tom Heaton that will keep veteran goalkeeper at the club into his 40s
TOM HEATON has verbally agreed a new one-year playing deal at Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim‘s Red Devils confirmed on Monday they were in contract talks with the 39-year-old goalkeeper.

But Heaton is set to stay at Old Trafford with fresh terms to be finalised in the coming days.
Veteran stopper Heaton was set to be out of contract at the end of June.
But the three-cap England international, who is in his second spell at the club having rejoined in 2021, is ready to sign a new deal at United which will take him into his forties.
He spent five years at the club between 2005 and 2010 but never made an appearance in the Premier League.
Heaton had loan spells at Swindon, Antwerp, Cardiff City, QPR, Rochdale and Wycombe.
Despite returning to Old Trafford he has still not played a single minute for the club in the Prem.
A coaching role had been touted for the ex-Aston Villa and Burnley keeper but that is believed to be an option in the long-term future rather than now.
As a result, Heaton will remain part of the club’s squad for the new season with the first team returning to action for a friendly against Leeds in Stockholm on July 19.
He did make appearances for the club in the post-season tour of Asia.
However, he did have a horror blunder in the match against Hong Kong.

Here are the nine players that have been released by Manchester United...
- Christian Eriksen
- Jonny Evans
- Hubert Graczyk
- Jack Kingdon
- Victor Lindelof
- Sam Murray
- Tom Myles
- James Nolan
- Tom Wooster
United released nine players including Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen.
Evans and Eriksen could both be heading to the Championship having been linked with moves to Wrexham.
Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford CONFIRMED for September 13 in Las Vegas with super-fight airing on Netflix
CANELO ALVAREZ and Terence Crawford have finally CONFIRMED their Las Vegas super-fight – which will air on Netflix.
The pair will collide for the undisputed super-middleweight world titles – with UFC boss Dana White promoting the blockbuster.

Dana White said: “Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley.
“Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight.
“Live on Saturday, September 13, streaming globally on Netflix, two of the GREATEST boxers in the sport will meet in a historic fight from Las Vegas.”
Canelo said: “I’m super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix.
“On September 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
Crawford warned: “My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top.
“On September 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.”
After Canelo laboured past William Scull in Saudi Arabia in May, he won back his vacated IBF title to become undisputed super-middleweight king again.

And shortly after, unbeaten four-division champion Crawford stepped into the ring to face off with Canelo – flanked by Saudi boxing boss Turki Alalshikh.
The bout was first set for Friday, September 12 in Vegas with Netflix to air the fight with UFC boss Dana White to promote.
TKO Holdings – who own the UFC and WWE – signed a multi-year partnership this year to establish a boxing promotion alongside Alalshikh.
As well as a UFC-style boxing league, two super-fights were set to be promoted by TKO and White every year.
And Canelo’s blockbuster against Crawford was always due to kickstart the partnership.
But then the cracks began to appear.
At one point, it seemed White and Netflix were OUT of the picture after Alalshikh said the fight would be promoted by Saudi-based Sela on pay-per-view.
He posted: “We have confirmed the promoter for Canelo vs. Crawford will be Sela for Riyadh Season.
“The broadcaster we have not decided yet but the date will be Saturday 13th September. More details soon.”
Alalshikh even said the fight could switch to New York or Los Angeles – despite the Las Vegas Raiders’ £1.5BILLION stadium being pencilled in.
Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight.
Dana White
Vegas will still host the fight but the Raiders’ stadium is currently booked up for college football game.
The game will need to be shifted in date for Canelo to fight Crawford at the 65,000-seater.
As the details of the fight began to rapidly chop and change – White remained quiet fuelling speculation over his involvement.
But when the American returned to the spotlight to promote UFC 316 in Newark – he finally offered some clarity.
He told media after the event: “I’m promoting the fight. I’ll let you guys know when it’s time to let you guys know.”
White’s re-involvement in the event is also said to have been the catalyst in getting Netflix back on board.
The streaming service debuted in boxing in November when YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul faced the returning Mike Tyson.
Despite the controversy surrounding Tyson’s comeback aged 58 – still over 100 MILLION watched Paul’s decision win causing the stream to crash.
Netflix follow up with Katie Taylor’s trilogy bout against Amanda Serrano on Friday, July 11 in an all-women’s card in Netflix.
The streaming giants are also in talks with the UFC over broadcasting rights – with ESPN’s expiring at the end of the year.
And White’s role as promoter of Canelo vs Crawford is believed to have convinced Netflix to return as broadcaster.
Canelo comes into the bout with all four 168lb titles while Crawford has not returned since beating Israil Madrimov for the 154lb title last August.

Katie Price’s £10k facelift looks tighter than ever in new video as fans say ‘that looks painful!’
KATIE Price’s £10k facelift today looked tighter than ever in a new video, with fans saying “that looks painful!”.
The former glamour model, 47, has spent a HUGE amount of money over the years on cosmetic procedures.

It all started after Katie, 46 – who went under the knife yet again earlier this year – shared a new video on Instagram promoting CBD oil.
However, it wasn’t the product that caught the attention of her fans.
In the short clip, the star’s face looked extremely tight and showed off her very angular jawline.
Katie’s fans immediately rushed to comment on the video, after some were left concerned with her appearance.
One wrote: “Your face looks painful. Are you ok?”
Another said: “She looks unwell, I hope she’s ok.”
This one added: “Katie’s face looks so tight.”
FACELIFT WOES
The TV star opted for tweakments abroad after being unhappy with her latest £10,000 facelift.
Sources close to the star claimed she was less than impressed with her “pixie ears” following the procedure.
At the time, Closer Magazine reported: “Katie is heading to Turkey for her first New Year’s procedure: fixing her pixie ears.
“She thinks they need correcting after her recent facelift. She’s having her ears removed, then re-stitched in place and pinned back so that they don’t stick out.”
Back in January, the mum-of-five took to Snapchat to share the gruesome photos, showing the sides of her face and cheeks all taped up.
Katie confessed on Snapchat: “From my last surgery, there are just a few little bits that I want tweaking.
“Well, they need tweaking. So here I am getting ready.
“That’s the worst bit for me, the needle.
“The needle’s done so now I can relax.”

SURGERY WARNING
Katie was recently warned she was “dicing with death” with her surgery habits.
It came after she revealed her plans for a fourth BBL operation.
Standing for Brazilian Butt Lift, the procedure entails injecting fat from other parts of the body into the bottom to give a more rounded or lifted look.
According to Dr Gerard Lambe, one of the UK’s leading plastic surgeons and head of Reflect Clinic UK, the star has major factors to consider.
Dr Lambe told New Magazine: “Katie needs to be aware that she is putting her health and body under extreme pressure with the now countless number of procedures she’s had done in the last year alone.
“BBL is one of the most dangerous surgeries anyone can undergo and it has the highest mortality rate – it’s one of Katie’s riskiest surgeries yet. She is dicing with death.”
