WIZZ Air has unveiled a new route between Birmingham and a pretty European city lots of Bris will have never have heard of.

Now, Wizz Air will be connecting the city with Birmingham, from October this year.
The flights will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays from October 28, with fares starting from £17.99.
The flight would take just over three hours.
Sibiu has a wealth of different places to explore.
History is evident throughout the city, with remains of medieval walls and towers present, including the 13th-century Council Tower.
In the upper town, there is also the Brukenthal Palace – which now houses the Brukenthal National Museum and is full of European paintings.
For those who find churches fascinating, then the nearby Evangelical Cathedral is a must with gravestones in its walls.
Just outside of the city, is also the Dumbrava Sibiului Natural Park.
The parkland area stretches over 960 hectares and it is an oak forest with a plethora of wildlife including deer, porcupines and foxes.
A beer costs around 11 lei, which is about £1.83 – so relatively cheap.
And the average coffee costs 12.20 lei, which is around £2.03.
Food is also cheap, with a three-course meal for two people at a mid-range restaurant costing £29.12 on average.
Olivia Harangozó of Wizz Air said: “We are excited to add this new route to our operations from Birmingham.
“Sibiu is one of Europe’s hidden gems, and we are delighted to give Brits more opportunities to visit this city and experience its – and Romania’s – rich history and vibrant culture.”
All flights will be operated using the latest-generation Airbus A321neo aircraft.
WizzAir also recently announced a new route between Birmingham and Rome, Italy, which is due to commence service on June 16.
The flights will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I’ve used my fair share of face tans over the years, so I can confidently say I have it down when it comes to spotting a good tan that won’t leave me orange or patchy.
The best face fake tans often incorporate skincare ingredients, to provide a golden glow without leaving the face feeling dry.
Most options can be mixed with a moisturiser to help get an even tan with minimal effort, just remember to wash your hands after applying to avoid orange streaks!
Investing in a face fake tan that actually works can leave you looking like you’ve just returned from a week in the sunshine all year, but which ones are worth the money?
How I tested
I’ve been an avid fake tan user for a decade
I’ve been fake tanning almost every week for a decade, so I can consider myself a bit of a connoisseur.
Some of the fake tans included have been my favourites for years, while others have been tested across several weeks.
When testing, I considered basics such as ease of application, value for money, scent and application process.
Tanning mists, serums, waters and foam have been put to the test, and I’ve kept an eye on whether they go patchy, how they blend on the skin and how the colour fades.
I’ve also considered the packaging of the facial tans, like whether the bottle leaked and whether the tan has dropper for controlled application.
Pros: Feels weightless on skin, thin pipette for controlling how much product is used, buildable, moisturising, scentless, affordable
Cons: Need quite a few drops to make a difference

Garnier’s tanning drops have been on my radar for some time, after Mrs Hinch revealed that she’s “obsessed” with the affordable beauty buy on Instagram.
After finally taking the plunge, this first thing I was impressed by was the small pipette, which gives great application control.
The drops are clear on the skin, developing across several hours to give a bronzed glow.
The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid and coconut water for added hydration, so it’s great for people like me who have dry skin.
I use fake tan every week, and I needed quite a few drops to achieve the same level of tan to match my body, so I can imagine I’ll get through the bottle quite quickly.
That being said, I love how weightless the drops feel on the skin, and I’ll be reaching for them on no make-up days during the summer to get a healthy glow.
Pros: Hydrating, long-lasting, easy to use, subtle scent, customisable per droplet amount
Cons: Expensive

I bought this on an EasyJet flight home from Croatia, with the fear of losing my summer tan looming over me, and it was one of the best impulse purchases I’ve ever made.
I love the Tan Luxe drops for multiple reasons, from the lack of a strong tanning scent to the even coverage provided by the formula – these drops are easy to use and streak-free.
The recommended number of drops ranges from two to twelve, allowing you to customise your usage while building your tan.
The tan also stays put, no matter what your skincare routine is. I double cleanse with an exfoliator, and it still doesn’t budge.
Just be sure to thoroughly wash your hands afterwards, as it can leave a lingering stain (which is also a testament to the strong pigment of the product!).

Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water, £18.95
The tanning water can be used on the face and body
Firstly, I love the spray bottle, which can be sprayed directly to the face or applied on the hand and mixed with moisturiser (my preference).
I find I need around four spritzes to get a decent glow, which I apply before bed and wake up with a subtle but sunkissed tan.
The main feature that converted me from Isle of Paradise’s tanning drops to the tanning water is that I find the lighter consistency prevents me from ever going patchy.
It glides on without feeling sticky, and it doesn’t cling to areas like the hairline or eyebrows.
I would be nervous to use the tanning water on my body as there’s no guide colour (you can read my tried-and-tested roundup of the best fake tans for my recommendations), but it’s a trusty favourite for my face.
Pros: Dries quickly, not sticky, buildable, skin-loving ingredients, smells nice, no need to blend in, refreshing
Cons: Needs up to eight hours to develop

For me, tanning mists are as much about the added skincare ingredients and the pleasurable experience of spritzing myself to cool down during a heatwave.
And this one from St Moriz is affordable enough that you can spritz it to your heart’s delight.
The tropical coconut scent is pretty addictive and makes you feel as if you’re on holiday somewhere exotic.
Plus, the particles are so fine that you don’t need to blend the product in with a mitt or brush, so you can apply the mist on the go or in a slap-dash manner.
With that being the case, I’ve found myself misting away at any opportunity and in any location — from my office desks to the post office queue.
I tried it in the medium shade and found that, after around six to eight hours, it gave me a subtle golden glow.
And, because it’s packed with coconut oil and coconut water, it’ll quench the thirst of even the driest skin.

Pros: Suitable for face and body, a little goes a long way, three shade options, doesn’t go patchy, good value for money

Lottie Tomlinson’s brand Tanologist launched its face and body drops back in 2020, and the serum has been a hit ever since.
I mix the tanning drops with my moisturiser every time I fake tan to ensure my face matches my body, and the buildable formula makes it easy to colour match.
As it comes in three shades, I didn’t need to use as many drops at once, meaning the bottle lasts a lot longer than other alternatives.
I always wake up with a really nice glow whenever I use the drops, and they’ve never left me looking orange or patchy.
The drops claim to be for the face and body, but with the small bottle and pipette, I think it would be pretty challenging to get a good tan on the body with this (especially if you’re pale).
Pros: Easy to customise, good for sensitive skin, easy to dispense, natural
Cons: Small packaging, orange hands, if used too much can look orange around eyebrows etc
Rating: 7.5/10
I’d been hoping to try Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster for Face and was pretty happy with the results.
You can customise the intensity of your tan by adding two to three drops with your own moisturiser – great if you have sensitive skin.
However, I found that when mixing the moisturiser and the tan, you could easily get left with orange stains on your hands.
With no smell and light formula, you really can’t tell it’s in your moisturiser upon application, but the tan after is natural, sun-kissed and even.
The colour develops within a couple of hours, leaving you with a natural glow, and I recommend using it on alternative days to avoid telltale signs and an orange tint.
There were no marks on my white pillows, and it simply faded as with everyday cleansing, making it the perfect way to keep your natural (or fake) tan topped up.
Pros: Perfect for those wanting deep tans, good price, easy to use, two shades to choose from
Cons: Have to be mindful of other skincare ingredients

When it comes to tanning, Bondi Sands is my holy grail, and I’ve raved about Liquid Gold to everyone I know, so of course I had to try the tanning drops.
I used the shade Dark as, despite both Light and Dark shade options being buildable, the darker shade has a higher level of tanning actives than the lighter shade.
If you’re looking for that deep tan to match a rich body tan, then this is definitely for you.
However, you may need to avoid any skincare products containing Vitamins A, B, C, or D, as well as retinols, AHAs, and BHAs (commonly found in exfoliating products), as the exfoliation can lead to an uneven tan.
Also, despite claims on the site that the drops can be used on sensitive and blemish-prone skin, I did find that after using the drops for a while, I experienced small breakouts, which disappeared once I stopped using them.
On the whole, the drops are perfect for those wanting a deep, dark, and long-lasting even tan, and I would recommend them to anyone with non-problematic skin.
Pros: Easy application, generous size, deep colour development while also being natural
Cons: Caused breakouts, quite concentrated spray

I applied the Coco&Eve Antioxidant Face Tanning Micromist before bed and let the spray develop overnight.
The spray nozzle was quite concentrated and was definitely more of a squirt than a mist and dried relatively quickly, taking only a few minutes even with a generous amount.
The tan had developed really well overnight: the colour was deep and sunkissed, while also being natural.
It left no streaks, but there was a subtle transfer on my linens.
After using a foam cleanser in the morning, I loved that it developed into a natural glow and worked with makeup.
While I loved the delivery of this tan in terms of ease of use, colour and development, I don’t think the blend agreed with my dry skin as I noticed breakouts.
Like fake tanning for the body, it’s important to prep the face before applying tanning products to ensure the best results.
It’s worth exfoliating the skin 24 hours before application to remove dead skin, as this will help the tan to go on nicely without clinging to dry patches.
The type of face fake tan you’re using will depend on how you moisturise, but in most cases, it’s recommended that you go in with a light moisturiser to hydrate the skin before application.
Most tanning drops can also be mixed with a moisturiser, which helps to evenly distribute the product across the skin.
Fake tan for the face can be applied using a mitt, tanning brush or your hands, but make sure you wash your hands after to remove any residue.
Once the tan is applied, use circular motions outwards to spread across the face, blending carefully around the hairline and eyebrows.
What is the best face fake tan for older skin?
As mature skin can be drier with deeper lines, it’s worth looking for a face fake tan containing hydrating ingredients.
The serum features a Tri-Collagen Booster that works to restore dull skin, while the glycopeptides, Raspberry Seed Oil, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E hydrates for a glowy finish.
Fake tan sprays for the face often include skincare ingredients which helps to hydrate while bronzing the complexion.
The method is also an easy way to apply tan to the skin, but beauty fans should be careful to not miss any spots in order to ensure an even application.
Unlike tanning drops that can leave residue on the hands if not washed off quickly, face mists are efficient for tanning with minimal effort, and can even be used on the go.
How to get fake tan off your face
As the skin on the face is far more sensitive than the body, it’s important to be super gentle when it comes to removing fake tan.
Gentle exfoliation will help to break down the tan, which can be done through a facial scrub, toner or mask.
Over-using an exfoliator can irritate the skin and damage the skin’s barrier (which can take months to repair), so it may not be the best option for sensitive skin types.
Fake tan on the face tends to fade at a faster rate than on the body due to the use of skincare products like cleansers and oils (which is handy if you overdo it on the tanning drops).

THIS is the terrifying moment a car was found dangling over a cliff edge, sparking a nerve-shredding rescue mission.
The white SUV was spotted teetering over the cliff by passersby, with its occupants moments away from a near-perilous fall.

The vehicle had reportedly swerved off the road after skidding on snow on the Xinjiang Duku Highway in western China.
It was left dangling precariously with its rear left wheel elevated off the ground.

A woman, named only as Ms Deng by local media, filmed the rescue effort as she and her friends stopped to help.
They had been on a trip to a lake as they drove up the mountain – and pulled over when they spotted the dangling car.
The video begins with a look at just how fraught the situation is as the passersby approach the trapped vehicle.
They begin to try and heave the car back to safety as more and more motorists park nearby to lend a hand.
In a heart-stopping moment, one of the rescue party removes a suitcase from the back of the car – risking shifting more weight onto the car’s front tyres.
A rumble of thunder can be heard as the rescue mission becomes increasingly tense.
But at least six men lend their strength to helping keep the car on the ledge, gradually pulling it back to safety.
Eventually, they manage to heave the SUV further back from the brink.
The rescuers then tie a rope onto the back of the car to properly drag it back to firm ground.
According to reports, the two unnamed people inside the vehicle were unharmed in the bone-chilling ordeal.
Authorities have warned motorists to be aware of weather conditions and to maintain a safe distance when driving, News X has reported.
They also urge road users to park properly on the viewing platforms.
The Duku Highway sits on what was historically known as the Silk Road.
It is as well known for its stunning views and landscapes as it is for its dangerous driving conditions.
While several family members were able to leap out of the car in time, but one woman inside was unable to escape in time.
She survived the fall, but suffered severe hip injuries.

A BARGAIN Hunt star has been jailed for a terror offence after flogging artwork to the backer of a barbaric militant group.

He was the first person to be charged with a specific offence under section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Ojiri has now been jailed for two-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to eight counts of failing to make a disclosure during the course of business within the regulated sector.
The TV star, who has also appeared on Antiques Road Trip, faced a maximum five years in prison for the offences, which took place between October 2020 to December 2021.
Ojiri sold artwork to Nazem Ahmad, a man designated by US authorities as a “major financial donor” for militant group Hezbollah.
Prosecutors in America believe Ahmad used high-value art and diamonds to launder money and fund the organisation.
At the time, Ojiri knew Ahmad had been sanctioned in the US and read news articles about him.
Lyndon Harris, prosecuting, said previously: “There is one discussion where Mr Ojiri is party to a conversation where it is apparent a lot of people have known for years about his terrorism links.”
Mr Harris said that Ojiri “dealt with Mr Ahmad directly, negotiated the sales of artwork and congratulated him on those sales”.
The total value of the artwork sold was around £140,000, with the art sent to Dubai, the UAE, or Beirut.
Receipts released by the Met Police show the art included paintings by Charlie Roberts, Mónika Kárándi and an £8,500 piece by British artist Nigel Howlett.
Ojiri also flogged a £12,000 bronze sculpture by the same artist, as well as four pieces by Max Rumbol totalling £15,700.
One painting – Patty in Blue by Baldur Helgason – was sold to Ahmad for £20,000.

The court heard new money laundering regulations in January 2020 brought the art market under HMRC supervision.
Ojiri is said to have discussed the changes with a colleague – indicating awareness of the rules.
His charge came following an investigation into terrorist financing by officers from the National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit (NTFIU), part of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
The Treasury, HMRC and the Met’s Arts & Antiques Unit were all also involved in the probe.
Police raided two UK warehouses to seize a number of artwork from Ahmad in May 2023.
Among the pieces, which were not sold by Ojiri, were two Andy Warhol paintings and a Picasso painting.
In total, the Met seized £1million in art, which was sold so the funds can be reinvested back to the police, CPS and Home Office.
Ojiri was previously the owner of an art gallery called Pelicans and Parrots that was dubbed “the coolest place in London“.
He sold a curated selection of contemporary furniture, houseware, and gifts until the store closed in 2021.
The antiques expert first appeared on screens on BBC show Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
He then became a regular on popular daytime show Bargain Hunt, where he lends his expert advice to budding antique buyers.
Ojiri has also appeared on Antiques Road Show – travelling across the country as he attempts to make a profit on forgotten items.
Commander Dominic Murphy, head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, said: “This case is a great example of the work done by detectives in the National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit (NTFIU), based in the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
“The prosecution, using specific Terrorism Act legislation is the first of its kind, and should act as a warning to all art dealers that we can, and will, prosecute those who knowingly do business with people identified as funders of terrorist groups.
“Oghenochuko Ojiri wilfully obscured the fact he knew he was selling artwork to Nazem Ahmad, someone who has been sanctioned by the UK and US Treasury and described as a funder of the proscribed terrorist group Hizballah.
“Financial investigation is a crucial part of the counter terrorism effort. A team of specialist investigators, analysts and researchers in the NTFIU work all year round to prevent money from reaching the hands of terrorists or being used to fund terrorist attacks.”

Developed at Mass General Brigham – a hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School – the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) is a tool designed to assess modifiable risk factors that influence brain health.
The quiz’s 21 questions evaluate someone’s physical health, lifestyle, as well as social and emotional factors.
All together, these can pain a picture of someone’s risk of brain diseases that come on with age.
But researchers found the quiz could also shed light someone’s risk of non-brain related diseases, such as heart disease or cancer.
That’s because neurological diseases such as stroke, dementia, and late-life depression, as well as cardiovascular diseases —including ischaemic heart disease, stroke, and heart failure —and cancers are often driven by the same risk factors.
These include things like unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, smoking, excessive drinking, high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
Psycho-social factors like stress and social isolation are also drivers of disease.
In fact, at least 80 per cent of cardiovascular disease cases and 50 per cent of cancer cases can be linked to these factors, researchers claimed.
Senior author Sanjula Singh, of the McCance Center for Brain Health at MassachusettsGeneral Hospital, said: “While the McCance Brain Care Score was originally developed to address modifiable risk factors for brain diseases, we have also found it’s associated with the incidence of cardiovascular disease and common cancers.”
“These findings reinforce the idea that brain disease, heart disease, and cancer share common risk factors and that by taking better care of your brain, you may also be supporting the health of your heart and body as a whole simultaneously.”
The quiz will generate a score of 0 to 21 – the higher your score, the more brain-healthy habits you practice.
Researchers used data from the UK Biobank to analyse health outcomes in 416,370 people aged 40 to 69 years using the test.
They found that a 5-point higher BCS score at baseline was associated with a 43 per cent lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease – including ischaemic heart disease, stroke, and heart failure – over 12 and a half years.
For cancer, a 5-point increase in BCS was associated with a 31 per cent lower rate of lung, bowel and breast cancer.
How to do the quiz
Before you take the test, you’ll need some information from your health records, such as your latest blood pressure reading, you haemoglobin A1c score, your cholesterol levels and BMI.
The test – available on the Mass General Brigham website – starts off by asking people about their blood pressure, cholesterol levels and BMI, as well as smoking, exercise and sleep habits.
It also asks patients about social relationships – whether they’re close to anyone outside of spouses and children – and if they feel that their “life has meaning”.
Once you’ve answered the questions, the quiz will generate a score between 0 and 21, and ways to improve your brain health.
The aim is to achieve the highest score possible.
The score will be made up of three categories – physical, lifestyle, and social-emotional health – and it measures what you are already doing to protect your brain and prolong your brain health.
This can include exercise, sleep, social interactions, lowering blood pressure and more.
“Your McCance Brian Care score is a tool you can use to measure and improve how well you care for your brain throughout your life,” according to Mass General Brigham.
“Small adjustments, like finding some time to walk more in your day or making it a priority to call your best friend, can have a major improvement on your overall score and brain health over time.
“Achieving your highest score and keeping your highest score month after month, year after year, will ensure you are taking the best care of your brain as you grow and thrive.”
Study authors said that previous research suggests that some individual components of the BCS quiz – such as smoking, lack of exercise and high blood pressure – can raise the risk of dementia or heart disease.
But they said that their study can’t prove that the BSC components can cause disease – only that they are strongly linked.
Researchers also noted that the quiz can’t be used to predict whether someone will get a specific disease.
Instead, it can serve as a framework to help people identify achievable lifestyle changes that support the health of their brain, as well as the rest of their body.
Lead author Jasper Senff said: “The goal of the McCance Brain Care Score is to empower individuals to take small, meaningful steps toward better brain health.
“Taking better care of your brain by making progress on your Brain Care Score may also be linked to broader health benefits, including a lower likelihood of heart disease and cancer.
“Primary care providers around the world are under growing pressure to manage complex health needs within limited time,” he went on.
“A simple, easy-to-use tool like the McCance Brain Care Score holds enormous promise – not only for supporting brain health, but also for helping to address modifiable risk factors for a broader range of chronic diseases in a practical, time-efficient way.”

Sharing an expert from an i article to Instagram, Sophie wrote on her Stories today: “Thank you @carsonsarah @theipaper.
“I’ve been reflecting on my first week of Radio 1 and it’s been such a surreal experience to connect with the nation. I love it!!!”
Chief Culture Writer Sarah Carson had praised Sophie in her opinion piece, claiming – while her hiring may not be “fair – the reality star still “deserved” her place.
She wrote: “The primary function of Radio 1 in the afternoons is providing a bit of distraction, energy, and silliness as people leave work or school.
“It’s not supposed to be challenging, or specialist – it’s low-stakes, unwind, chatty stuff that needs someone sparky on the mic between the pre-made playlists.
“Habboo is likeable, a sharp wit, withering, quick to laugh, and sweet. She’s smart, comfortable being open about her relationship, self-effacing, and happy to indulge a bit of nonsense (she needs to be, being married to Laing).
“She feels like a friend – the kind who gives you tough love while giving your arm a gentle squeeze – and she’s got charisma. That counts for a lot more than skill and experience in this landscape.”
Her comments were a far cry from some listeners, who had slammed the latest hiring by bosses.
On the official social media account of BBC Radio 1, fans flocked to the comments section as they claimed the station has “fallen” in standards.
One disgruntled listener fumed: “How far we’ve fallen from Vick and Jordan…”
A second exclaimed: “There is something really gross, about two such privileged and independently wealthy (the Laings)given access to prime time national radio shows over people who have trained and studied for years in media.”
“Please get some good DJs back in the drive time slot. It’s getting embarrassing,” stated a third user.
While someone else raged: “Wealthy Reality stars just being handed roles for nothing now. They’re sooo unrelatable.”
And a fifth added: “Im a big radio 1 fan but shouldve been jerry …..jamie and sophie is a bad move be a switch off for me sorry.”
Many longtime fans of the station directly blamed bosses for a decline as they hired “influencers“.
They slammed the decision not to look for upcoming talent or give the role to an existing cover presenter who has trained for the job “for years”.
Another fan noted: “Where is the dislike button?
“There are so many hard working and capable presenters covering gigs on R1 atm, how undermining that they weren’t given the chance to show the listeners what they’re capable of!!”

Sam broke down in tears as he reached the end of his five-day journey from Stamford Bridge, which he completed by running and cycling.
But there to greet him at the finish line was his sister Louise, her partner Ryan Libbey and their son Leo.
Samie was believed to still be in London after spending Thursday night at a Secret House Party in Soho with Stormzy and US rapper Nelly.
Before setting off on his challenge, which has raised more than £1million for Soccer Aid and Unicef, Sam ruled out Samie making an appearance.
Despite dating the Love Island star since April, he was cheered off the starting line by Louise and Ryan.
Sam was asked by Mail Online if Samie would be there to support him during the five-day challenge, but he replied: “I feel like… this is so much more than who I’m dating or hooking up with.
“And I feel like it would take away from what it is going on. You know what I mean?
“You know, If I had a wife or something like, like a girlfriend of years it might be a different.
“I just think that I don’t want to do anything that will take away from this challenge and Unicef – the spotlight needs to be on them.”
At the time of crossing the finish line, Sam had raised £1,516,433 for Unicef.
