Pamela Anderson broke her silence about her “intimate” romance with her Naked Gun co-star Liam Neeson in an interview with People published on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson Made Headlines Over the Summer
Anderson and Neeson made headlines back in July and August while promoting Akiva Schaffer’s remake of the classic Leslie Nielsen police parody. While many cheered on what they perceived to be a budding romance, some dismissed it as a publicity stunt. Speaking to People, Anderson opened up about their brief romance and “lost week” together.
The Two Spent an ‘Intimate Week’ Together
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while, but only after we finished filming,” she said. Anderson went on to explain that she and the Taken actor shared an “intimate week” together at his upstate New York home. “I had my own room,” she clarified. “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.”
The two “went to dinner at a tiny French restaurant, where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson,’” Anderson continued. She also helped Neeson with some much-needed gardening. “I tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint,” she said. “I was happy to help, and he appreciated.” At one point, the action star even scared a bear away from the window of his breakfast nook wearing only a bathrobe.

But It Wasn’t Meant to Be
Following their “lost week,” Anderson explained, “we went our separate ways to work on other films.” When they reunited to promote Naked Gun, “We were having fun,” she said, adding that their relationship is “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film. I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.’”
But, unfortunately, the romance wasn’t meant to be. “I adore Liam,” she said, “but we are better friends, in full honesty. He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
Neeson Previously Dismissed the Idea of Dating
In a 2024 interview with People, Neeson dismissed any prospect of dating. The star lost his wife, Natasha Richardson, after she sustained an epidural hematoma in a 2009 skiing accident. “No, I’m past all that,” Neeson bluntly stated of his romantic life. “It was a horrible thing to happen,” he added of Richardson’s death, explaining that his only goal was ensuring that his two sons “were okay.”
Anderson’s career has been on a significant upswing of late. Last year, in addition to her acclaimed comedic role in Naked Gun—which grossed over $100 million worldwide—she received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for her dramatic turn in Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl.
