The president of the PAN, Jorge Romeroannounced a new stage where the party “It will be a new voice for society and the future of the party will not depend on any party alliance, neither past, present, nor future.“. At this event, the leader stated that the institution of the family would be defended to the death, but no one imagined that it would also include those formed by people of the same sex.
In his speech at the Frontón México, Romero stated that “That decision is requested by a majority of voters. The end point of an era, no acronym will come before the PAN.”
After this relaunch, the President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized that this event was held in the midst of the tragedy experienced by thousands of families affected by the floods left by the extraordinary rains in the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Hidalgo. The President pointed out that the PAN no longer has anything new to offer the People of Mexico and stated: “It’s in the same place and with the same people.“

An inclusive party?
After this relaunch in Frontón México, in an interview for a renowned radio station, Jorge Romero stated that the PAN is no longer against same-sex marriage.
“Please, who can be against that anymore? […] The PAN is never going to get involved in a private agenda […] The nucleus of the family is what the PAN will defend to the death, […] all types of families: that of dad, mother and children, and also that of mother, mother and children“.
The national leader of the opposition affirmed that, after the internal renewal of the party, they will seek to defend the institution of the family, no matter how diverse it may be, even in the case of those who consider that their family is also made up of their pets.
