Pizza fans can debate favorite toppings, preferred crust styles and even the perfect amount of cheese. One aspect remains constant, how to eat a slice. Papa Johns is changing that concept with its newest pizza innovation, and people are hungry for the first taste.
Whether it is a weekly dinner staple, a celebratory meal or just satisfying a craving, pizza is a favorite food. Over the years, the traditional slice has been stuffed with cheese, coated in garlic butter and even given a low-carb spin. While there have been changes to that pie, the most traditional serving method is that triangle shape. Papa Johns is changing that notion and serving a favorite side with it.
Papa Johns Serves Pizza Innovation.
Available now for a limited time, the new Papa Johns Pizza is the Papa Dippa. With a $13.99 starting price, this style encourages people to play with their food.
This specialty pizza is designed for dipping. Instead of slices, the pizza is divided into 16 strips. The long, narrow pieces are meant to be dipped into a sauce.
Papa Johns
While the classic Papa Johns pizza dough is still the foundation, this version has been designed to facilitate dipping. The crust is just firm enough to hold up to the sauce yet is still tender.
According to Thomas Smith, Senior Director of Culinary and Corporate Chef at Papa Johns, “The Papa Dippa isn’t just a pizza—it’s a whole new way to eat Papa Johns pizza that’s designed to be dipped, shared, and devoured. We know our fans are obsessed with our Special Garlic Dipping sauce, so we created three bold garlic-forward sauces that create a new flavor-packed experience with each dippable bite.”

Papa Johns Fans Love Dipping Sauces.
The new Papa Dippa is more than cutting a pizza in a new way. The concept celebrates a beloved Papa Johns menu item, the Special Garlic Sauce. To add excitement, the restaurant added three new sauces. Guests can dip and dip again.
The three new sauces are Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Garlic Hot Honey and Creamy Garlic Pesto. While the company is not trying to replace its iconic sauce, the new flavors balance food trends with creative twists.

For example, Garlic Hot Honey captures that swicy flavor that has taken over menus. With an infusion of chili flake, the pungent garlic becomes more rounded. Since it is spicy, sweet and savory, it makes pizza dipping a roller coaster of flavor.
The Creamy Garlic Pesto is the most creative one of the trio. While this sauce is meant to be a dip, the herbaceous flavor would be delicious drizzled over a slice, too. On a veggie pizza, this option would be a taste winner.
Hungry for the first taste of the Papa Dippa? It’s time to dip before the opportunity disappears.
