Partly cloudy and cool conditions are expected in KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal’s southern and coastal regions can expect partly cloudy conditions.

“Drivers should remain alert, especially in the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal,” said Lehlohonolo Thobela, a forecaster.

While coastal towns brace for cooler conditions, with maximums around 21°C to 23°C, inland parts of the province will enjoy warmer temperatures. Pietermaritzburg is forecast to peak at 27°C, while northern towns closer to the border may reach highs of 30°C.

Southern Regions Remain Partly Cloudy

KwaZulu-Natal’s southern districts will remain under partly cloudy skies for much of the day, though conditions are expected to clear gradually. Despite cloud cover, temperatures will remain mild and pleasant.

Residents in the northern areas should prepare for hotter conditions. Northern KwaZulu-Natal is likely to experience temperatures above 30°C, with isolated areas peaking around 32°C.

While no fire warnings have been issued for the province, authorities have encouraged communities to remain mindful of dry areas and to avoid unnecessary burning.

How should KwaZulu-Natal balance public safety messaging between coastal driving hazards and inland heat conditions?
