In a statement in which it reported the progress in the response actions in the municipality of Álamo, in Veracruz, after the spill in the 30″ oil pipeline in Poza Rica-Madero, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that it contained the dispersion of hydrocarbon in the Pantepec River.

These actions extended along 35 kilometers of the Tuxpan River; Additionally, in the 8 kilometers that connect with the Pantepec River to the first bridge in the center of Tuxpan, 467 oleophilic cords were installed.
Regarding the recovery work, the oil company highlighted that more than one million liters of hydrocarbon have been recovered in seven strategic points. With the containment stage concluded, recovery work will intensify.
Likewise, he explained that the intake of the Water Commission of the State of Veracruz in the town of El Xúchitl was recovered, a critical point for the supply of water to the municipality of Tuxpan, located four kilometers downstream from ground zero.
Regarding the operation of the Administration of the National Port System (ASIPONA) and the Poza Rica-Madero pipeline, Pemex specified that both are already in operation. To avoid further impacts on port operations, loading and unloading work at the terminal was resumed, while Pemex reports that the spill has been completely contained and, as of 2:00 p.m. yesterday, the 30-inch pipeline is in a position to operate with full industrial safety.
755 workers from PEMEX, the Ministry of the Navy, the Security, Energy and Environment Agency (ASEA) and the Government of the State of Veracruz participate in the attention actions. with support from two recovery vessels, seven river boats for tracking, containment and access to the critical area, four autonomous breathing equipment and two skimmer equipment installed for surface hydrocarbon recovery.
