Mexican Petroleum (Pemex) reported that this Tuesday pipeline repair completed located in Alamo, Veracruzwhich was affected by the intense rains recorded two weeks ago.
Through a statement Pemex noted that two containment barriers, oleophilic cordons, pumping and surface collection equipment were installed in the Pantepec River in attention to the hydrocarbon loss of around eight kilometers in the vicinity of the municipality of Álamo.
The agency said that the sanitation and remediation work on the banks and nearby areas will continue. It details that three other barriers will be installed, where specialized personnel will carry out the cleaning tasks, waste collection and application of absorbent material to recover the natural conditions of the environment.

“Pemex reaffirms its commitment to the safety of the communities, the protection of the environment and responsible attention to any eventuality, always prioritizing the well-being of the population and the care of natural resources,” he added.
The work was carried out in coordination with the Secretary of the Navythe Security, Energy and Environment Agency (ASEA), local and state authorities.
For its part, the Marina activated his Regional Contingency Plan and Unified Command to address the hydrocarbon spill caused by the pipeline in the Pantepec River of TuxpanVeracruz.

The Navy indicated that 300 sailors were deployed to respond to the emergency, as well as 1 containment ship, 1 plane, 1 helicopter, 2 drones, 7 small boats and 10 vehicles.
