People are convinced Love Island brought back baby challenge to sabotage one happy couple

The baby challenge returned to Love Island for 2025 after being ditched for the last two seasons, and people are convinced the producers did it on purpose to stop Yasmin and Jamie from winning.

Last night’s episode saw the Islanders look after a fake baby for the entire day with their other half, to get an idea of what parenthood would actually be like, and it caused a divide between the happy couple over whether they actually want kids.

“I can’t, you’re going to have to take him outside. I just want peace and quiet,” Yasmin said, leaving Jamie to look after their fake baby Elijah for the day.

Later on, they then had a serious chat about parenthood, where Jamie said he “probably would” want kids down the line. However, Yasmin was the opposite, saying: “I’ve never had the desire to have a family.”

“It’s not a complete deal breaker, but it’s definitely up there,” Jamie then responded, acting as if he didn’t care about kids that much. However, you could see that he was taken aback by Yasmin’s comment.

She then claimed she definitely wouldn’t change her mind about having kids in the future, and admitted that she’d rather spend time with her friends’ children as she can just “give them back” when she gets bored of them.

Throughout the entire series, people have been accusing the producers of favouritism towards Helena and Meg, and sabotaging Yasmin, Toni and Shakira, especially on Movie Night.

So, some people are convinced that the baby challenge was a clever tactic to split up Jamie and Yasmin before the final and stop them from winning, because their relationship has been completely smooth sailing up until now.

“Hear me out: the producers brought back the baby challenge for like 10 minutes just to prompt a conversation between Yas and Jamie wanting different things because they don’t want them to win,” one person wrote on X.

Another person replied: “Producers think they’re so sneaky but we see through it!”

“Omg you’re so right. Still voted for them though,” a third said.

Someone else agreed: “Yes 100 per cent agree with this.”
