A Spanish influencer couple is being slammed for blaming ChatGPT for making them miss their dream trip to Puerto Rico.
So, Alejandro Cid filmed his partner, Mery Caldass, who was in tears at the airport because they had missed their flight to Puerto Rico. They essentially missed the flight because they didn’t have the correct documentation. The pair then posted the video on TikTok, which has now racked up over six million views.
In the clip, Mery told her followers that she no longer trusted ChatGPT because it had given her incorrect information about visa requirements. “Look, I always do a lot of research, but I asked ChatGPT, and they said no,” she explained, referring to the couple needing a visa to travel to the Caribbean island. “I don’t trust that son of a b***h anymore,” she added.
At one point, she even joked that the chatbot had “taken revenge” on her because she sometimes insults it. “I don’t trust that one anymore because sometimes I insult him, I call him a b*****d, you’re useless, but inform me well… that’s his revenge.”
Unsurprisingly, the influencer couple were slammed for it

Since posting the video, the comments have been filled with all sorts of mockery and memes. People criticised the couple for putting their entire international holiday in the hands of a chatbot instead of checking any official websites themselves. “Natural selection, I guess,” one person wrote, while another flat-out asked, “Who trusts ChatGPT for something like this?”
However, some people claimed that the couple simply misunderstood ChatGPT. After all, it wasn’t technically wrong. Spanish people don’t need a visa to visit Puerto Rico. But they do need to fill out an ESTA form, which is official US travel paperwork. So, it seems the couple either asked the wrong question or misunderstood the answer.
Either way, people are side-eyeing them hard for crying on TikTok instead of just googling the US embassy website.
