People spot ‘proof’ Love Island faked an entire storyline to ’cause drama’ in the villa

People are convinced they’ve spotted evidence proving one of the latest Love Island storylines was fake – a set-up by the producers just to cause drama.

It came during one of last week’s games, when Dejon was asked to reveal who he would want to be coupled up with if he wasn’t with Meg, and he said Yasmin.

Later in the episode, Yasmin revealed that she also wrote Dejon on her board, and it started a massive argument between him and Meg. However, eagle-eyed people have spotted that Yas didn’t write Dejon at all, she actually wrote Cach’s name, who is coupled up with Toni.

Yasmin misinterpreted the question and thought she was supposed to write who she would want to be coupled up with, not her partner, Jamie. After realising her mistake, she changed her answer to Shakira, but the camera clearly shows her writing what looks like the word “Cach” at first.

In the scene, Jamie reads out the question “Who would your partner couple up with if it was not you?” and it cuts to Conor saying “This is a good one [question].” After that, the camera shows Yas writing a name on her board from behind.

It’s really blurry and difficult to make out, but it definitely looks like the letter “C” followed by some writing you can’t really make out People are convinced she wrote Cach, but the producers forced her to say she wrote Dejon in a fake storyline just to create some drama.

“Definitely the producers telling her to start drama,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Just watched it back and she 1000% wrote Cach.”

Even Yasmin’s sister Zara agreed, commenting: “I think producers told her to say she wrote Dejon to cause drama.”

However, others are convinced the board actually said the word “cats,” which could have been part of another question that was cut. They may have been asked what their partner’s favourite animal is, to which she would have written “cats”. Love Island may have then used the clip in the wrong place, which they often do.

“You can’t guarantee that the clip was for THAT specific question. They string clips together and probably asked more questions than what was even shown,” someone else said.

Another agreed: “It will have been from another question – maybe even one they didn’t air. Do you guys really think Yasmin would have lied for the producers, messing stuff up with Jamie for no reason? I doubt it.”

“I really think that says cats and it was just a clip from another question, potentially not aired,” someone else said.

I guess we’ll never really know, but it certainly looked suspiciously like the word “Cach” on her board.

In 2022, a Love Island spokesperson told Metro the show is a “combination of reality and produced elements” and is a “fair and accurate representation of villa life”. They said it’s “absolutely untrue to suggest that Love Island is fake, staged or scripted”.
