When Popeyes’ Hot Honey range launched last year, fast food fans couldn’t get enough.
Customers had been begging for more of the dip on the menu, and Popeyes didn’t disappoint, introducing the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and Hot Honey Saucin’ Wings.
But then in a blow to Hot Honey fans everywhere, this limited time offer — Popeyes’ most successful ever — ended just three months later.
But now, it’s good news once more for lovers of the Louisiana fried chicken brand, which has been hailed as ‘phenomenal’ and ‘better than McDonald’s’, as Hot Honey is back — and this time, there’s a new addition to the range.

Joining the line-up in restaurants and for takeaway from today, there’s the Hot Honey Saucin’ Boneless, featuring 100% fresh boneless chicken breast pieces with Popeyes’ iconic Shatter Crunchin’ coating, ‘sauced up’ in Hot Honey.
The range is back by popular demand, after customers took to social media, begging for its return.
‘Can you please explain why you have taken the hot honey wings off your menu,’ asked an outraged @OyinSoExtra on X in April. ‘Do you realise this is travesty?!!! Bring it back!!!!’

X user @d1gitalpixie agreed: ‘Popeyes UK need top bring that hot honey burger back I’m so serious.’
While on TikTok @louisewatson18 mourned the loss of her favourite: ‘Missing the hot honey, my fabulous sauce ever.’
Dave Hoskins, head of food at Popeyes UK confirmed the range is returning due to ‘unprecedented demand.’
What menu items do Popeyes offer in their Hot Honey range?
The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (£6.99) features the shatter crunch chicken breast in a brioche bun, but is drizzled in hot honey sauce, then topped with smoked cheese and pickles.
There’s also new Hot Honey Saucin’ Wings (from £5.99), which Popeyes say are ‘a must-try for fans looking to spice up their order’. These crispy chicken wings are slathered in the house-developed hot honey sauce that ‘packs a punch’.
And for those wanting a bigger meal, you can now opt for the Hot Honey Box Meal, which features the sandwich, regular fries, a regular drink, and then your choice of either two chicken tenders, three hot wings, or one-piece signature chicken for £10.99.
He said: ‘Hot Honey is by far one of our best-selling flavours, as well as a viral trend that shows no signs of letting up.
‘Our sweet, fiery sandwich pairs sticky honey with our signature Shatter Crunch texture for a mouthwatering experience that fans have been begging us to bring back.

‘We couldn’t ignore the unprecedented calls from customers, and got right to work creating a bigger and better range filled with an explosion of the fiery stickin’ sweet flavours, to satisfy that huge demand from our fried chicken cravers.’
It’s not been confirmed how long exactly the new items will be on the menu for, but they are once again all limited-edition, so they won’t be sticking around forever.
Those wanting to give them a try should be quick to do so before they’re gone.
Is the Hot Honey range at Popeyes worth a try?
After its initial launch last year, Metro got an exclusive early taste of the items and were impressed with the sweet and saucy range.
Opinion editor, Jess Austin, thought the chicken sandwich was ‘amazing’, and declared herself officially a Popeyes convert because of it.
Similarly, Lifestyle writer Eleanor Noyce was also a big fan, describing the hot honey sauce as ‘sweet, tangy and crispy.’
Metro’s resident specialst food writer, Courtney Pochin, enjoyed it immensely, but didn’t really think it was a necessary addition to the menu.
She said: ‘Popeyes is my go-to fast food chain and while this new twist on the chicken sandwich is undeniably yummy, and has a nice warm kick, it’s got nothing on the OG version.
‘The classic is a classic for a reason, you just can’t beat it.’
