Police Obtain Security Footage in D4vd, Celeste Rivas Investigation

Authorities are still looking for evidence into the death of Celeste Rivas, and the possible connection to singer D4vd. While police have not named him as an official person of interest, they have combed through a Hollywood Hills home in connection with the case.

Per a report by TMZ, authorities have obtained security camera footage from the Hollywood Hills home where D4vd was previously staying and was rented by his manager.

What We Know

Since the discovery of Rivas’s decomposing body in an abandoned Tesla, there have been details supposedly tying the 15-year-old to the singer. Police are still investigating as the coroner has yet to announce a cause of death.

  • Rivas was discovered after complaints of a foul odor coming from a Tesla in a Hollywood lot on Sept. 8. The Tesla was registered under D4vd’s name.
  • Her body was found in a plastic bag in the trunk of the car. Rivas’s body was not intact.
  • As part of the investigation, police raided a Hollywood Hills home near where the body and car were found. It was reported that the house was being rented by D4vd’s manager, with the singer having stayed there.
  • Rivas’s family said she went missing two years ago, with her mother and former teacher claiming she was seeing someone named David and a singer.
  • Both D4vd and Rivas have a matching “sshhh…” tattoo. Reports claim the two were in a relationship, with Rivas possibly having lied about her age.
  • D4vd has an unreleased song talking about someone named “Celeste” and his music videos depicting violent imagery.

Police Look for More Evidence Into the Case

So far into the case, authorities have not revealed any concrete details on what could have happened to Rivas or if the singer was involved. According to TMZ, the LAPD obtained security footage from the Hollywood Hills home.

Police seized video footage from multiple cameras last month when they executed their search warrant. The owner, Malden Trifunovic, explains that the video footage would show anyone coming and going from the property.

In photos of the home, two security cameras are clearly placed on the outside of the home facing toward the sidewalk and entrance. Trifunovic also explains he has not personally seen the footage because he does not have access to the cameras for renters’ privacy.

The owner has also taken matters into his own hands by hiring a private investigator to look into the case. He had asked the LAPD for an itemized list of what was seized from the home, but had not gotten a response.

D4vd ended his lease of the Hollywood Hills home shortly after Rivas’s body was discovered. The singer has also moved his Texas homes under his mother’s name.
