Popular Chickpea Pasta Brand Drops New Cheesy White Pizza That Boasts 17-Grams of Protein Per Slice

Banza is known for their chickpea-based pasta that’s higher in protein and fiber than traditional pasta. Their business has grown from offering elbow macaroni to now boasting 14 pasta shapes, a new line of brown rice pasta, boxed mac and cheese, protein waffles, pizza crust and frozen pizzas. And yes, the ingredient that brings it all together is still chickpeas.

Under their pizza umbrella, they have both vegan and vegetarian options, including margherita, roasted veggie and cheese frozen pizzas. The vegetarian options are made with real cheese, while the vegan options are made with, well, vegan cheese. They also offer a 2-pack of pizza crusts so you can build your own.

The lastest pizza variety to be added to the menu is Banza White Pizza, which is their classic chickpea crust topped with a creamy white sauce, spinach and a blend of mozzarella, provolone, white cheddar, Parmesan and romano.

This flavor provides 17-grams of protein and 10-grams of fiber per serving, which is half of the 9-inch pizza. If we’re comparing it to some of the other healthier pizza options on the market, such as those with cauliflower crusts, Banza has 2-times the protein, 2-times the fiber and 25% fewer net carbs (per their calculations).

Per the directions on Banza’s website, their frozen pizza is extremely easy to cook. Simply preheat the oven, remove the pizza from the box and packaging, bake 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is lightly golden brown, then remove, slice and enjoy.

Just like any frozen pizza, it makes for a convenient, simple lunch or dinner, yet Banza’s varieties, being protein- and fiber-packed, will likely keep you more satisfied from a hunger perspective. You can always add some additional toppings to it, if you want to spice things up once in awhile.

Per Banza’s website, their products are CleanScan Certified, meaning when tested for glyphosate and 400+ other pesticides, they were not detected. Because their products are made from chickpeas, they are gluten-free, and as stated above, many of their products are vegan.

If you’re looking to purchase Banza pizza, you can use their website’s store locator to find where it’s available near you. It appears to be sold at Target, Walmart, Thrive Market and Kroger, and sold through Amazon, Instacart and Shipt. You can also order their products in larger quantities on their website.
