Mexico City.- In an effort to revitalize the progressive left and prevent the disappearance of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD)the National Block of Local Parties of the PRDmade up of the leaders of Mexico City, Michoacán, Guerrero, Morelos, Zacatecas, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala and Oaxaca.
This bloc seeks to rebuild the PRD from the local level, with unity, autonomy and a progressive agenda that recovers governments and strengthens its national presence. During the founding ceremony at Expo Reforma, state leaders agreed that this alliance represents a new stage of reorganization and commitment to Mexico.
“When the PRD unites, the PRD advances,” they stated, highlighting that the country’s interest must be above personal interests. The bloc distanced itself from right-wing parties and old leaderships, betting on a new generation of leaders with territorial roots.
Senator Araceli Saucedo supported the initiative, underlining its relevance for the survival of the party. He Promotion Committee It will convene left-wing militants and movements, including the PRD with registration and those who lost it, to coordinate a common agenda and expand territorial presence.
The approved political positioning, “Unification and Progressive Agenda”, establishes axes such as democracy, economic equality, social well-being, security, substantive equality and national sovereignty.
With this, the PRD reaffirms its historical role and its commitment to a living, organized left at the service of the people.
Among the leaders of the bloc are Nora Arias (CDMX), Octavio Ocampo (Michoacán), Evodio Velázquez (Guerrero), Sergio Prado (Morelos), Néstor Santacruz (Zacatecas), Juan Manuel Cambrón (Tlaxcala), Margarita Ramos (Hidalgo) and Tomás Basaldú (Oaxaca).
