Pedro Bogas knew that he would not be reappointed from his position, but before that, he decided to present his resignation to the mayor of Lisbon, informs the Lisbon City Council in a statement.
The chairman of the board of directors of Carris submitted his resignation from his position following the presentation of the preliminary report by the Office of Prevention and Investigation of Aircraft Accidents and Railway Accidents (GPIAAF) on the accident with the Glória elevator.
This Wednesday, Pedro Bogas met with Carlos Moedas. “NAt this meeting, the resignation from the position of President of CARRIS was presented, extending to all other members of the company’s Board of Directors”, reads the statement sent by Lisbon City Council.
“President Carlos Moedas highlights the professional and courageous way in which in the toughest moment of his mandate, following the tragic accident at the Elevador da Glória, the current Board of Directors defended the company’s interests and, despite having made the position available from the outset, they agreed to remain in office.”
Until there is a new administration, the current one will guarantee the management of the municipal company. that the President of the Chamber says he should take office soon to “restore as quickly as possible the total trust and credibility of a fundamental company for the city of Lisbon”.
Pedro Brito Bogas has been in the administration of Carris since the summer of 2022, a choice made by Carlos Moedas, after having won the local elections four years ago.
